In honor of UK Black History Month, employee resource groups EM-Powered (Sony Pictures), Represent & Black@PlayStation (Sony Interactive Entertainment), and Helping Unite Everyone (Sony Music Entertainment) came together for a One Sony event titled “Black Culture and Identity in Entertainment.” Panelists Teanne Andrews (We Are Parable), Temi Alchémy (90s Baby Show), and Dr. Clive Nwonka (Associate Professor at University College London and Editor of “Black Arsenal”), along with moderator Jamz Supernova (BBC Presenter), examined the impact of Black British culture in media through the years, the portrayal of Black stories, and what more can be done to give underrepresented people a voice at the table.
