Here is part 3 of my short series of talks with colleagues from the Innovation & Development department at MedSkin Solutions Dr. Suwelack AG. Nadine Schülke, Product Development Specialist SkinCare, shares some insights on the tasks and challenges of product development in a very fast-moving skincare market. Nadine, what makes your work so diverse and how do you manage to keep up with the demands of the skincare market? "In my job, it is particularly important to always stay up to date, understand the important global trends and translate them into product development. We are currently deepening our expertise on the effectiveness of algae in skincare products, by lots of scientific research as well as attending relevant conferences and congresses as e.g., the recent European Algae Industry Summit in London. The feedback and market insights our global customers and partners share with us is especially important in our product development, as this enables us to meet the very different demands of as diverse countries as e.g., Japan in the East and the US in the West. Regardless of any skincare trends however, all our product developments must meet our standards in terms of efficacy and skin compatibility, always proven with scientific data and clinical studies. Our medical heritage factors in here as well, as we have learned a lot from the development of our dermal templates and wound dressings. What I particularly like about the job: The fast and uncomplicated exchange with my colleagues from other development teams like MedCare or Technology.
