Don't Think the CAT's Jurisdiction Should Include Owners' Meetings❓ The Ontario Government has asked for input from stakeholders in #Condoland about expanding the jurisdiction of the Condominium Authority Tribunal to include issues related to owners' meetings, and other matters. These changes proposed by the government are purportedly under consideration because they are believed to be of benefit concerning the housing crisis. It remains unclear to many how adding jurisdiction over meetings to the CAT's purview, with the likely outcome of grinding the CAT and many condo communities to a halt, will be of any assistance in addressing the housing issues we face. The deadline to send your feedback is July 11, 2024! 📅 Don't miss out on having your voice heard! ✏ Here is the government's online survey form for feedback on these proposed changes: https://lnkd.in/eaFBcKA6 #CAT #CondoAuthorityTribunal #condomanagement #condolaw #condoindustry #condoboard #ownersrights #protectdirectors

Attention all disabled Linkers, and their friends, neighbours, family, work colleagues..... Urgent call out!! *Needed by Monday* Please help make accessing employment, transport, healthcare, recreational facilities and many more places less of a barrier for disabled people! Access isn't just a ramp....and actually, did you know that despite the global symbol for disability being someone in a wheelchair, just 8% of disabled people are wheelchair users! Why do people need to see where they're going ahead of visiting somewhere new? Here's some reasons I can think of: Neurodivergent folk like me, can feel extremely anxious when planning a new journey. Those of us with spinal disabilities, need to know if there's enough suitable and supportive seats, at regular intervals for us to rest. Will all the seats be standard conference seats at an event, if so I need to see those chairs, because they may hurt me and cause me more disabilities (pain exacerbates my conditions). All of the above anxiety & potential injury, can be alleviated or avoided if I could see the venue, ahead of me planning to go! It is a game changer! Now, I've already filled this questionnaire out for Ocean3D.co.uk but Chris Wood needs your help....as the more people who have their say, the more chances of Chris getting GOV.UK to successfully implement this so it benefits all of us! #Disability #AccessibilityMatters #HelpNeeded Tagging in some people who might be able to help: Jamie Shields Celia Chartres-Aris (née Hensman) Sandra Bentley Isaac Harvey MBE Gavin Neate Colin B. Jodie 💜 Greer Emma Shepherd Please complete the survey ASAP! See OP 👀 ⬇️
The clock is ticking and, frankly, we need your opinions ASAP! We're meeting The Minister for The Disabled on Monday with the sincere hope we can improve accessibility for the millions of people who need to journey, destination plan and familiarise themselves with the layout and facilities of a location before they physically visit. We're confident that our legal opinion* from the wonderful Louise Mankau of Doughty Street Chambers will help us win the day BUT, we need more hard evidence that it's not just a legal right but, there's a real need too. It will only take a minute of your work break but, please 🙏 complete our short survey if you ever have the need to journey or destination plan to reduce real anxiety or, care for someone who does. Feel free to share the link to family, colleagues and friends too. Thank you Chris Wood Director Link to (very short) survey https://lnkd.in/eJ7a4vxT *Link to legal opinion https://lnkd.in/ej3gyxSD (Not to be used, shared or reproduced in whole or part for commercial use without our Directors express written consent)

Transition Tips for Career Civil Servants Mike Mears and I, both longtime career public servants, have published a compendium of 'Transition Tips' that are summarized in Gov Exec and linked below (https://lnkd.in/g_GYj_25). You can also find the full text on various Web sites, including mine (www.publicvirtu.com). Our point in all of this is to tell our civil service brothers and sisters to avoid panicking; after all, they--or their predecessors--have been through this before, so they need to take a deep breath, remember that they're there to do whatever "We the People" want, despite all of the inflammatory rhetoric, and do the detailed work necessary to show our new bosses the right/legal way to go about it. And to officials in the new Administration, don't be turned off or diverted by the "Survival Guide" label...if anything, it underscores the point that career civil servants are hired to do the people's business, whether they agree with it or not. Rather, we are here to serve, whomever is in office

Have you ever, or do you know anyone, who has ever sat down, or is thinking about sitting down? Well, if that's the case, pull up a chair and spend 3 minutes on a few questions about preloved furniture. This short survey is helping to gather data not only so I can complete my MBA, but also so I can identify some ways we can prevent furniture from landfill or incineration, both of which are devastating for our planet, and also, what a shame to waste that handy old...whatever it is! Thanks in advance, follow this link to the survey; https://lnkd.in/ePz-zUMt

We are looking for your views on what the next government needs to do to redress the harm caused by the #WindrushScandal. This important election year, we want to keep the lives of the Windrush Generation and their descendants on the table, and what a new government should do to ensure their voices and experiences are taken seriously. Please complete our short survey!
What should the next government do to repair the harm of the Windrush scandal? Within the next year, a general election will be called, and a new government will be formed. Whatever the outcome, we want Windrush justice to be a high priority on the policy agenda. Ahead of the election, Action for Race Equality is working with Patrick Vernon and key stakeholders to develop and agree some policy priorities that will form the basis of a manifesto. We want your views to play a key role in developing these policy pledges. To start the consultation process, we’ve created a survey to find out what you think the next government should prioritise on Windrush in their first 100 days in office and beyond. Please fill in the survey by Friday 15th March 2024. We really appreciate your contributions.

Successful local government employees live and breathe core public service values like integrity, transparency, accountability, and community service. Here are 4 powerful ways to highlight these values in your council interview: ✔️ Integrity. Share a situation where you chose honesty over convenience. Councils want to see your commitment to ethical behavior. ✔️ Transparency. Discuss how you’ve practiced open communication, ensuring clarity and preventing misunderstandings. ✔️ Accountability. Give examples of taking responsibility, even if it meant owning up to a mistake. Show how you’ve learned and grown from these experiences. ✔️ Community Service. Highlight ways you’ve contributed to community projects or initiatives, demonstrating your passion for serving others. 💡 Framing your answers around these values will show that you don’t just understand their importance - you live them.
