I count myself lucky to have heard inspirational presentations from amazing educationalists over the years. Conference facilitates fantastic networking opportunities; it’s a wonderful space in which to find and spread time with your tribe! ( not to mention the social side which is good for the soul !) ⚡Reflecting on My SIPA Journey ✨ This photo captures one of my first approaches at Columbia | SIPA—a moment that, at the time, I had no idea would transform my professional and personal life so profoundly. Studying in a vibrant, inspiring, and challenging city like NYC has been life-changing. As I near the end of my first semester, I’d like to share three key takeaways from this incredible journey: 1️⃣ Studying an MPA at SIPA: Challenging but Unforgettable Pursuing a Master's in Public Administration at SIPA has been one of the most demanding yet rewarding experiences of my life. I have been surrounded by inspiring professors, brilliant classmates, and a curriculum that allows me to tailor my path. Beyond the classroom, SIPA offers countless extracurricular opportunities—research competitions, volunteer programs, student associations, and talks by renowned experts, lecturers, and alumni. These experiences make SIPA not just an academic journey but a holistic one. 2️⃣ “Do it even if you are afraid.” A former boss once told me these words, which have stuck with me ever since. This experience would not have been possible if I had not faced my fears—leaving a stable job, adapting to a new language, risking failure, and battling self-doubt. Fear is universal, but my question to you is: Will you let your fears hold you back? Or will you take that leap and trust yourself? Remember, growth often lies on the other side of fear. 3️⃣ Invest in Personal Growth In our fast-paced, achievement-oriented society, it’s easy to lose sight of yourself. Take a moment to pause. Reflect. Reconnect. Whether through therapy, mental health podcasts, self-help books, or meaningful conversations with trusted friends, learning about yourself is invaluable. Understanding your fears, tracing your origins, and embracing your past can transform how you see the world and relate to others. Trust me, the journey within is just as important as the journey forward. Of course, this adventure has not been without challenges—moving to a new country, adapting to a different culture, and mastering a new language. But every small hurdle overcome has made me feel stronger, more empowered, and more open to exploring challenges I never thought possible. You are not alone. Asking for help is a strength, and self-compassion is key. If my journey resonates with you, or if you’re considering a similar path, feel free to reach out. I’d be happy to help or share insights from my experience. Here’s to chasing dreams, conquering fears, and growing into the best version of ourselves! 🌟 🚀Atrévete #ColumbiaSIPA #MPA #PersonalGrowth #OvercomingFear #NYCExperience

Find out more about how to grow you Professional Speaker business by being part of a nationwide and global organisation that encourages, supports and inspires - Professional Speakers Association of NZ - PSANZ!
🌟Monica Moore our Immediate Past President answers the question: Why am I a member of Professional Speakers Association of NZ - PSANZ ? 'PSANZ are my speaking whanau. Because of the support, guidance and opportunities I’ve had from this fabulous association I have been able to achieve far more than I ever thought of. My boundaries were pushed, my horizons widened and before I start to sound even more like a country song, I’ll also say that, like any organisation the resources are there but the work still needs to be done. I’m proud to have won two national awards, to have had the opportunity to lead the organisation of three Speaker Summits and facilitate our first Trailblazers book authored by 24 of our members and won an International Book Excellence award for best coffee table book. I am on the Board and led the association for two years as President. Because PSANZ is part of the Global Speakers Federation, I’ve attended conventions in Melbourne and Orlando and have spoken at Conventions in Delhi, Perth and Singapore. I have Professional Accreditation and my next goal is to become a CSP - I’m just over halfway and determined to succeed and be one in ten million.'
