What is an Official Plan? It is a long-range planning document that sets out goals, objectives, and policies to guide growth and development in a municipality, and directs how land in a municipality should be used. Land use planning policies are complex and can include many aspects, from where and what types of housing are permitted, to the kinds of retail or industry that are needed, to what type of services are required to support the residents of a municipality. My Planning Team at the Town of Essex, Ontario, in collaboration with our planning consultant WSP in Canada, is hosting three (3) Open Houses to present and review the Town's Draft New Official Plan. Our Official Plan is intended to fulfill certain planning objectives over the next 25 years and is guided by the following principles: o Building on our Agricultural Strengths o Leveraging our Location for Employment o Elevating our Unique Communities o Achieving a Sustainable and Resilient Town If you are a resident, landowner, business, or tenant in the Town of Essex (Essex Centre, Harrow, McGregor, Colchester, Gesto, and everything in between!), please consider dropping in to one of the Open Houses or reviewing the information on our Project Webpage. In our 25th year, Madison’s Central Business Improvement District (BID)continues to play an important role in supporting downtown commercial property owners and businesses on Capitol Square, State Street and King Street. Did you know: ·        83 BID events between 2021-2023 drew a total of 484,000 visitors ·        Those visitors stayed an average of 84 minutes downtown ·        Our May 9 Madison Night Market drew 20,050 visitors ·        Our June 13 Night Market drew 23,800 visitors ·        In 2023, BID Ambassadors helped 26,398 visitors navigate downtown ·        112 brick-and-mortar businesses participated in 2023 BID events ·        17 new businesses have opened in the BID in 2024 or are coming soon To learn about our future plans, see more facts and figures and read statements of support from downtown stakeholders and partners, please take a few minutes to read the letter we recently sent to property owners: https://bit.ly/3Scl87f As a special assessment district with a five-year sunset, the current BID authorization ends on December 31, 2024, and we’re currently seeking property owners’ support to continue the District from 2025-2029.   On behalf of the BID staff, our Board of Directors and our community partners, we’re strongly urging property owners to vote ‘yes’ for the 2025-2029 term. #downtownmadison #voteyes

13 months ago, we took a leap of faith and launched Contractors, Closers & Connections (CCC) of Kansas City with one mission: to create a networking platform that truly brought Kansas City's movers and shakers together. Our vision wasn’t just to talk about real estate—it was to make deals happen. We didn’t know if the commercial real estate (CRE) community would show up. But guess what? We knew one thing for sure: we were going to do it anyway. Now, here we are, hosting the final CCC of KC event of 2024, and what an incredible journey it has been!
