FSU member and former law lecturer Dr Almut Gadow was SACKED from the Open University (OU) for the 'crime' of questioning requirements to embed gender ideology within the institution's curriculum. At the FSU we've seen some pretty appalling examples of people getting into trouble for questioning attempts to erase the category of biological sex from public life, but this is one of the most egregious instances we've come across. WATCH this video to find out more. With our assistance, Dr Almut Gadow is fighting back — but urgently needs your support to continue her potentially groundbreaking legal case against her ex-employer, claiming harassment, discrimination and unfair dismissal. If you can, please show your support below. https://lnkd.in/efUb2bmW And if you're wondering why Dr Gadow's case is costing so much, it's because the Open University is calling 17 witnesses, which will stretch the hearing to nearly a month. We believe it is unnecessary for them to call that many witnesses. In fact, we believe it is a tactic to force Dr Gadow into giving up her case because of the financial implications of such a long trial. (The institution attempted a similar tactic during a recent Employment Tribunal case successfully brought against it by another gender critical former academic staff member, Professor Jo Phoenix). Let's not allow the Open University to wriggle out of this, the latest — and arguably the most important — gender critical Employment Tribunal case brought against it by an ex-employee who dared to express their perfectly lawful beliefs in the workplace.

A fascinating and thought provoking blog by Peter Csemiczky from Hickman & Rose. What do YOU think of the rights of those reported of serious sexual misconduct? Is the Office for Students the "right organisation to help universities by setting out a basic framework for how they should conduct sexual misconduct and harassment disciplinary investigations and proceedings. Ideally, this would be a step-by-step guide on how to run fair proceedings into alleged sexual misconduct."? In these cases what is being investigated? Rape or Sexual Misconduct? Do you know what the difference is and the impact on investigation? Is there a difference even? Do YOU think you are capable of objectively investigating such incidents? Are YOU trained, qualified, and experienced to investigate? Should lawyers have a right of audience in such civil investigations? Do the rules of CPIA apply to such investigations? ....... Just a few thoughts prompted by this insightful article. Our founding partner Ian Hynes co-authored the OU publication "Witness Testimony in Sexual Cases" and wider the team has written strategy and good practice doctrine on the subject on numerous occasions. "University managers said: 'You WILL teach gender ideology to your students, the subject is closed.'" FSU member and former law lecturer Dr Almut Gadow joined Andrew Doyle on GB News to discuss the ordeal of being DISMISSED from the Open University for the 'crime' of questioning requirements to embed gender ideology within the institution's curriculum. Dr Gadow is fighting back, but now urgently needs your support to continue her potentially groundbreaking legal case against her ex-employer, claiming harassment, discrimination and unfair dismissal — if you can, please show your support below. https://lnkd.in/eAMYAuj8 While the FSU continues to support Dr Gadow at no cost, she needs to raise an additional £90,000 to cover legal costs. Why is her case costing so much? Because the Open University is calling 17 witnesses, which will stretch the hearing to nearly a month. We believe it is unnecessary for them to call that many witnesses, and believe it is a tactic to force Almut into giving up her case because of the financial implications of such a long trial. (The institution attempted a similar tactic during a recent Employment Tribunal case successfully brought against it by another gender critical former academic staff member, Professor Jo Phoenix). However, with your help, Dr Gadow won't back down. The principles in this case are too important. Dr Gadow's appearance on GB News is available in full below. https://lnkd.in/eyBFezQX

"A Concerning Title IX Assessment for CSU System In recent years the CSU system’s Title IX offices have been under immense scrutiny in the national press. One student’s experience at Stanislaus State with Title IX issues has shed light on the university’s need for further improvement. The California State University (CSU) system has significantly overlooked complaints of sexual harassment and discrimination, according to a long-awaited Title IX and Discrimination, Harassment, and Retaliation (DHR) Assessment Systemwide report. The comprehensive 232-page analysis revealed that the CSU system also lacks procedures to address misconduct that is not completely discrimination or harassment yet 'disruptive to the learning, living, and working environment,' such as bullying or intimidation. Under Title IX, a civil rights law of the Education Amendments of 1972, the CSU Board of Trustees, through the Office of the Chancellor, appointed the Cozen O’Connor Institutional Response Group in March 2022 for a systemwide assessment of the CSU’s implementation of programs to prevent and address discrimination, harassment, and retaliation (DHR) based on protected statuses, including sex and gender." #TitleIX #CozenOConnor #Assessment https://lnkd.in/gEUNY4GA
