Manufacturers who use contract manufacturers and 3PLs can waste over 50 hours a month just trying to track their inventory. It’s a huge time sink, and it’s usually because they’re using spreadsheets. But it doesn’t have to be that way. I’ve helped several beverage manufacturers streamline their operations, and here’s how we gave them full visibility over their inventory in less than 30 days. The problem: 1/ Spreadsheets: They were tracking inventory across multiple locations using Google Sheets, but those sheets weren’t updated in real-time. This led to confusion, missed stock levels, and constant guesswork. 2/ Manual data entry: Their 3PLs would send weekly or monthly reports, and the team had to manually enter this info into their system. By the time it was updated, the data was already out of date. 3/ Guessing inventory: When fulfilling orders, especially for distributors, they were guessing what stock they had. This led to poor planning and constant worry about what they could or couldn’t deliver. The solution: 1/ Set up inventory flow: We created a flow in Brahmin Solutions to track inventory from purchase to fulfillment, including all warehouses and goods in transit. Now, they could visually see where their inventory was in real-time, no more manual updates. 2/ Streamlined order management: We integrated their eCommerce platform (Shopify) with Brahmin Solutions for automatic updates. For distributors, we automated packing slips and notifications, and for small retailers, they used Brahmin’s B2B portal to streamline orders and fulfillment. 3/ Added alerts: We set up automated alerts for low stock, so they knew when to reorder before it became an issue. Plus, they cross-checked inventory monthly to catch any mistakes or discrepancies. The result? They went from spending 50 hours a month on spreadsheets to having full visibility over their inventory. Now, they know exactly what’s in stock and can take orders confidently without second-guessing.
