I'm thrilled and honored to announce that I've earned the CIPD Associate Diploma in People Management. The past year has been a personal challenge filled with workshops, assignments and deadlines, countless book recommendations, and many introspections. At the same time, it has reinforced some valuable lessons: 📒 Learning never stops. And it is your own personal duty to create learning opportunities. Not your company's, not your entourage. You are the architect of your career growth. 💻 Realities vs. Best Practices: In the day-to-day grind, ideal best practices may not always align. No company culture is flawless. No job is perfect. No context is universally right. However, awareness and a well-equipped toolbox empower me to navigate inherent obstacles with ease and grace. 🎯 Focus Matters: In today's world of constant distractions, mastering the skill of staying focused is crucial. Maintaining concentration while preparing writing assignments, extracting essential insights from multiple information sources, proved to be my most demanding obstacle. 💎Discipline over Inspiration: Consistent daily routines produce more sustainable results than sporadic bursts of motivation. For me, discipline proved to be the driving force for this long-term project. 🌈 Professional Community: Being part of a professional community is the best inspiration. It exposed me to diverse perspectives, pulled me out of my self-sufficiency bubble, while also reassuring me that others share similar struggles. I got nominated for the ✨ Employee of the Quarter✨ award yesterday! And while I wasn’t one of the winners, I can’t help but feel giddy and grateful about it. It reminds me of the first few times I got recognized for my performance throughout my career history. Since I was in an Internal Comms/ EE engagement capacity then, I was the one who drafted the email and sent out the comms announcing myself as the awardee. I even designed, printed, and framed my own certificate days before the awarding ceremony... which I organized as well! :D The most awkward situation was when I hosted a quorum alongside another team lead in a rented cinema and announced myself as a nominee for the quarter. I wanted to disappear behind the curtains. My workmates would sometimes joke about how I probably manipulated the polls to add my name. That said, it always feels good to be remembered, to be seen. I don’t know who nominated me and for what exactly but I thought I'd share that this nomination feels like a breath of fresh air after a 'wipeout'. It's a vote of confidence, a reminder that amidst the flurry of tasks on my work board, I must be doing something right. That said - managers and colleagues do not have to wait for a special occasion to acknowledge their teammate’s efforts. In One Minute Manager, Ken Blanchard and Spencer Johnson highlight the importance of catching people doing the right things - giving “One Minute Praisings”. The acknowledgment has to be structured, genuine, specific, and immediate - that way, positive behavior is reinforced, leading to highly motivated employees who have the confidence to keep going. I lack in this department since I focus on the goals determination and corrective action part, but I suppose this is a good reminder to do better and pay it forward. #grateful #employeeappreciation #employeerecognition 🎊

After more than 10 years of working closely with ISG, it was very sad to see such a fantastic organisation fall so suddenly. We’ve wanted to share some words since we heard the news however we felt that it was right to wait and let those who worked for the business to share their thoughts and feelings first. Received my 20 years in the CIPD certificate in the post today. The recognition of it made me reflect on my time in HR, all in the public sector and in varying roles and organisations. I have learned so much but here are a few things that came floating to the top. * Learn from every boss, the good and the bad. * Don’t just embrace change, drive it. * Support your team to grow, develop and leave for better things. * Celebrate success and be open to give and receive feedback. * Never give up, be agile enough to change course but don’t lose heart. * When you don’t love what you do, do something else. * Strive to always be credible, thoughtful, balanced, respectful and kind.
