Delivering Industry-Leading High Resolution TEM Specifications High resolution TEMs with long columns present significant operational challenges when attempting to deliver an operational magnetic field of target 10 nanoTesla. A classic, single active magnetic field cancellation system can often not manage the challenge of tight field specifications in the face of high field gradients from top to bottom of the microscope column; simply put, placement of a single cancelling solution can result in over-cancelling in some areas and under-cancelling in others. The Spicer SC24 cancelling systems can be used in a dual configuration (two systems) to meet this challenge. Our longest-standing distributor, VEC, has recently produced a really helpful BLOG that describes the power of the dual cancelling solution within the context of other approaches that could be used. Time for a refresh! Spicer Consulting created the active magnetic field cancelling market when it launched its first products to a global market in 1992 - over 30 years ago now! The company has grown steadily since inception and has an unusual distinction of being profitable from day 1 of operation - we remain the market leader in active magnetic field cancelling solutions. The last 10 years have been a particularly high growth period for the company both in terms of sales volume to meet a growing market demand as well as expansion of our manufacturing team and base just outside Bedford, UK roughly an hour north of London. As we look to the future, we've embarked upon an exciting brand refresh starting with a new logo and adoption of new company colours that will trickle through to a fully revised website and branding of our products over the next 6 to 12 months. Our new logo is formed of two complementary horseshoe magnets forming an S while also incorporating a C and capturing the magnetic field cancelling core of our business within a global market (represented by the blue circle). Spicer Consulting started working with its first distributors in 1995, collectively establishing the early, global market for active magnetic field cancelling solutions. This week we gathered valued distributors from 8 different countries to meet, share and discuss the ongoing evolution of the business as we continue to grow and secure our market leading position. We had time to meet staff and tour our state-of-the-art manufacturing (Unit 20) and R&D (Eden Laboratory) facilities here in Stewartby, hear about and discuss specific high need and high value market applications where our products deliver the only viable, cost-effective solution to customers, as well as brainstorm and share ideas that will form the basis of short-term and longer term roadmaps that will include product and performance improvements, new product and application developments and new markets to be entered. In addition to the business side of the gathering, we had a fantastic opportunity to share meals together and enjoy social activities. What a great and diverse group of dedicated and committed individuals we are privileged to work with. Thanks to all our distributors who took the time and effort to come and be part of this gathering.
