Once in a while, and I don't do it as often as I'd like because I get busy, I like to shine a light on others on LinkedIn and their positive contributions or triumphs in the business world. This week, unbeknownst to her, it is Lorelei Rouvrais' turn. She had broached a concept for her website based on her interests and the history of one of her family members known for her baking prowess, and I hope it was some of the encouragement she got from attending some of the Gather at the Hearth LinkedIn Audio sessions that helped to spur her on. Because you know what? Her website is now up, it's well designed, very appealing for all you cuisine bakers out there, and a place where you can visit to gain and share baking ideas, recipes, and maybe a little family history of your own. Mistakes are part of life, right? I've had my fair share while working in the wellness space, especially when it comes to connecting with our community. One time, we launched a campaign that totally missed the mark for some of our followers. We received feedback from many who felt unheard and overlooked in our messaging. 😔 Recognizing this disconnect was crucial. We took a step back to analyze what went wrong. Through honest conversations with our audience, we learned that we needed to focus more on empathy and understanding and less on generic advice. ✨ So, we made it a priority to ask for input more often, creating an ongoing dialogue rather than a one-off campaign. This adjustment not only helped us regain trust but also enriched our content with real voices and experiences, making our community feel more engaged and valued. As busy ambitious parents, finding time for self-care can feel impossible, right? But what if we approached it in layers? 1️⃣ Layer 1: Fast, anytime self-care—quick practices you can do anytime, anywhere. Examples: 💨 Deep breathing or stretching 👂 Checking in with your body 🧴 Having your favorite skin care product handy for quick touch-ups 2️⃣ Layer 2: Self-care tied to your routines—practices you can add to what you’re already doing. Examples: 📞 Calling a friend while driving alone 🎶 Playing music while cooking or cleaning 💍 Taking an extra moment to an accessory you love before you leave the house 3️⃣ Layer 3: Dedicated "me-time"—self-care practices for those moments you’ve carved out just for yourself. Examples: 🛁 Booking a massage or spa day 🏃♀️ Solo run or fitness class 📖 Taking time to read or relax Sometimes, when we think we need more self-care, we jump straight to Layer 3, but Layers 1 and 2 can be just as impactful—because those small moments add up! 🧡 Moreover, when we focus on self-care across all three layers (instead of just Layer 3), we can enjoy self-care EVERYDAY.
