It is event time again......and a reminder on medical provision for your events! Please remember.. if booking medical provision, to ensure a medical needs analysis has been undertaken to guide what level of resource you require. If you are booking a medical provider with ambulance, it is reasonable to expect that ambulance will transport a patient to hospital if needed (unless your medical needs analysis specifically excludes this and you only require the ambulance for onsite retrieval). if your event is in England, you must have CQC registered ambulance provision to be able to legally transport patients. Please check: - what grade and skills of staff you will get - if you have CQC registered ambulance for your needs where ambulance is specified Do not rely on calling 999.. the NHS is stretched and your event should not place extra demand on them!

Four things you need to know about the opening of the Arthur M. Blank Hospital!
Tomorrow, Sunday, Sept. 29, we’ll make Georgia history when the doors to Arthur M. Blank Hospital officially open. Here are four things you need to know.👇 1) At 7 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 29, Arthur M. Blank Hospital will open, and the Egleston Hospital Emergency Department will close. Current clinical services at Egleston will move to Arthur M. Blank Hospital. 2) We’ll use 65 ambulances to move more than 300 patients to the new hospital—all in about 12 hours. 3) Please yield to ambulances near our hospitals on Move Day. They are transporting precious cargo. 4) As of 7 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 29, families should visit one of our three hospitals for emergency services: Arthur M. An open letter to General Practice. 18th March 2024 Dear General Practice, You won’t have heard of us because we’ve had our heads down for the past 5 years, busy working on a solution to one of the most challenging problems facing the NHS... IT infrastructure that is not fit for purpose. We hadn’t planned on announcing ourselves yet. However, after recent events, we feel compelled to tell you that there is finally a new alternative to the attitudes and software that you are forced to endure. We are ready to go live with the first new GP System in 25 years after a successful live GP Practice pilot last year. NHS England have commissioned new alternatives to the incumbent GP systems, but we need your local expertise to get Medicus rolled out across the country. If you want a supplier who is aligned to your values, then please sign up for the NHS support to cover your costs in switching to a new system. What’s that you say…one of the top 10 recommended hospitals to work for in England? 2nd in the South East? Increased across every People domain? Top trust for learning? Thanking everyone that shares their feedback, supports improvement, suggests ideas & makes them happen. The NHS is a tough place to work right now but to hear so many of our staff would recommend us as an employer is the BEST feedback. Culture is shaped by every individual, every interaction, what you promote & what you call out. Engagement is driven by feeling-do I feel heard, included, supported & empowered? My team have worked so hard this year with many others to make a positive difference. We celebrate achievements today but we go again tomorrow to analyse every comment, create opportunities for discussion & action & keep moving forwards. We have a lot to do to realise a truly compassionate, inclusive & empowering workplace but a great foundation to build on 🚀 💥 #nhs #nhspeoplepromise #nationalstaffsurvey #engagement #employeeexperience #od #inclusion #leadership
Our staff have rated MTW one of the top ten hospital trusts in the country – and the second best in the south east – to work for! In this year’s NHS Staff Survey, staff experience scores across all seven NHS People Promise themes have improved. Even more staff say that they would recommend the Trust as a place to work compared with last year, placing MTW in the top ten acute trusts for improved scores in this important measure. Thank you to all our colleagues who took the time to complete the survey and share your views. Read more: https://ow.ly/VjqX50QNMGe

Today marks the 11th anniversary of the Mastercall Healthcare ‘Pathfinder/ATT’ 24/7 service supporting NWAS Paramedic crews in Stockport and Trafford with Alternatives to conveyances to A&E. ‘Call before you Convey’ Services, as it has recently been redubbed by NHS England's ‘Care Coordination’ guidance, highlight the importance of conveyance and dispatch avoidance schemes to improve patient outcomes, release ambulance resources and improve hospital flow. With an average 88-90% alternative outcome rating, in 2017 Mastercall/NWAS also took the service one step further to train care homes in when to avoid using 999 direct support to a clinician advice line (under the NWAS Pathfinder algorithm). Again, in 2020 this scheme developed further to take 999 CAS direct visiting requests to further aid community care and admissions avoidance. Our ‘alternative outcome ratings’ for this triple pathway service remain at the 90th percentile. With over 1000cases per month, c880cases receive alternative care. Cases are triaged within 20mins, releasing the crew to a pressing emergency; a GP or AP visits within 2hrs as/if needed. Moreover, as a social enterprise provider the service has only ever been part funded. With NHSE focusing on care coordination, we must remind ourselves of the service models that are reliable, tested and efficiently resourced (with capacity to expand) and consider standardising offerings like this in all localities were possible. #CallBeforeYouConvey #UrgentCareInnovation #CareCoordination #HospitalFlow #PatientOutcomes #AdmissionsAvoidance #UrgentCareTransformation #EmergencyResponseInnovation
