#FLSAChange #OvertimeConcerns #WageTheft Hey everyone! 🙌 I want to chat about something pretty significant coming down the line that could affect our non-exempt salaried staff. As you may know, the changes to the FLSA going into effect on January 1, 2025, mean adjustments to the salary threshold and overtime rules. 🕒 Now, here’s the kicker: my employer is suggesting that instead of using the time clock functionality in our HRIS (that keeps everything neat and official), staff should be bulk editing their timesheets. Sounds easier, right? But I can’t help but feel there’s more to it than just simplicity… Pressure to Overwork: There’s this underlying tension where the staff often feels compelled to clock in more hours than they’re contractually obligated to. It's like there’s an unspoken expectation to go above and beyond, which can feel overwhelming. Remember, annual leave requests can only be refused if it’s reasonable to do so. - Ensure your payroll system accounts for public holidays that fall during employee leave, so that leave is not incorrectly deducted.
