Startup Saudi’s Post

Abu Dhabi is set to establish a pioneering facility aimed at reclaiming recyclable materials from municipal solid waste, marking a significant milestone in waste management. Developed by Tadweer Group, the greenfield Material Recovery Facility (MRF) is slated to possess a capacity of 1.3 million metric tonnes annually and will be situated within the Al Mafraq industrial area. Encompassing over 90,000 square meters, it will rank among the largest MRFs in the region. The primary objective of this initiative is to gather municipal waste and extract recyclable resources such as metals, plastics, and other materials. By maximizing waste diversion from landfills through recycling and preparing feedstock for the Abu Dhabi Waste to Energy facility, the project aims to elevate recycling rates, foster a circular economy, and align with the group's goal of diverting 80 percent of Abu Dhabi's waste from landfills by 2030. #Abudhabi #recover #Materials #waste
