Article 2, Section 13: Voting by Ballot (Indiana Constitution Article 2, Section 13: "All elections by the People shall be by ballot.") All elections in Indiana must be done by ballot. This ensures that each person’s vote is confidential, and they can vote without pressure or intimidation. Why is this important? Ballot voting protects voter privacy and ensures that citizens can vote freely without fear of retribution. Example: When voting in person, Indiana citizens fill out a ballot in a private voting booth. No one can see who they voted for, which protects their right to vote freely. Recently I had the amazing opportunity to participate in the annual Election Verification Conference hosted by the #ElectionVerificationNetwork During this conference we engaged in a variety of different topics including Protecting Election Officials , Increasing Transparency During Elections, The influence of AI in Elections , and making sure everyone has EQUAL access to voting nationwide. In the pivotal time we’re in where both sides of the isle continue to push further away from each other, we must remember that Democracy is a bi-partisan issue and elections are a pivotal part in maintaining a thriving democracy— and in order to ensure that our democracy thrives we must engage in our civic duty not our political agenda to implement transparency, accountability, accessibility and protections of our elections. #DemocracyFirst #PoliticsLater

We need to fight to open states’ primary systems so that ALL Americans are able to vote in our primaries. However, there are barriers to opening primary elections. The Constitution greatly constrains the federal government’s role in elections. The elections clause gives states control over the time, manner and place of their elections and the first amendment right to free association allows political parties to exclude voters on the basis of party affiliation. Americans Together is working towards electoral reform to help ALL Americans gain the right to add their voice in a primary. #ElectoralReform #VotingRights #FairElections

Policymakers at federal, state and local levels benefit from knowing how each state runs its elections. With that in mind, NCSL and the U.S. Election Assistance Commission have worked together to create election administration profiles for each state. The profiles highlight each state’s policies on elections topics and provides a national comparison point for each. Learn more: https://bit.ly/3TUdmA3
