🌍 Bridging the Gap Between Education and Technology in EdTech! 🚀 My journey in EdTech has been shaped by a powerful realization: my computer science background alone is not enough. As I ventured deeper into the world of education, I discovered that IT skills, while crucial, make up just a small part of what’s needed to make a meaningful impact in schools. You can teach a teacher how to use every ICT gadget from A to Z, but the real challenge lies in showing them how to integrate those tools into their teaching effectively. This requires expertise in a whole other domain that I have come to deeply appreciate—pedagogy. Since then, I’ve been on a mission to learn the art of teaching from experienced educators. Today, I never train teachers on technology without a skilled teacher who understands both pedagogy and my tech. This collaboration makes knowledge transfer more effective and dramatically increases the chances of successful EdTech deployments in schools. 🎉 Today, I’m thrilled to launch a smart mobile learning project at Nkineji Primary School in Maasai Mara, Narok County, Kenya, kicking off with a 3-day introductory teacher workshop. I will also visit four other schools in the Ol' Kinyei conservancy area to monitor progress and provide technical support for ongoing smart mobile learning projects that have been active for the last three years. This initiative is a collaborative effort between wiLearn 4 Life and Gamewatchers Safaris & Porini Camps, and the incredible community of Nkineji.
