Make a difference - STEP by STEP! Creating a sustainable trade fair presence is built on a variety of different measures and takes time. Due to this complexity, every step toward greener trade fairs is important. STEP – Sustainable Trade Events Partnership acknowledges this and counts every move in the right direction for their Sustainable Exhibitor Award on a grading system. Follow them to learn more about STEP and the Sustainable Exhibitor Award!
Every STEP counts 🛣 On the road to sustainable trade fairs Sustainability at trade fairs is a complex topic. We focus primarily on the environmental compatibility of trade fairs and congresses within our sphere of influence. Taking steps in the right direction takes commitment, time, and looks different depending on your company or organization. We are aware of that - which is why we operate on a grading system where companies have to achieve a minimum score to qualify for the Sustainable Exhibitor Award, but they don't have to reach 100%. All you have to do is fill out the survey and submit supporting documents. 🌱 Embodying the step-by-step mindset, our grading system ensures that every measure contributing to a greener future is acknowledged and appreciated. You don't have to fulfill every aspect included in the survey, since we consciously promote and reward individual measures, as these ultimately form a whole. Our conviction is that every step towards a sustainable future is important. This approach is also reflected by the two possible awards winners can receive - Silver and Gold. And even if your sustainability strategy for trade fairs does not quite reach the threshold needed for either of them yet, you still profit from taking part in the free survey. Get insights into what might be missing, so that you can succeed on the next try! Sustainability is a journey, and everybody that joins it contributes to making the trade fair world a greener place. Who's the driving force behind STEP? 🌱 As our team works toward more sustainable trade fairs, let's continue introducing ourselves. Last week, we introduced Benjamin Low, and this week, our spotlight is on Arun Sharma. Who is Arun Sharma? Arun has been our Sales & Account Manager since the end of this April. He manages our customers by taking care of their needs and helping them with their sustainability at trade fairs. This dedication to connecting those interested in making the trade fair world more sustainable makes him a central point of STEP's vision: "At the heart of our mission is building a community committed to sustainability in the trade fair and event industry. By recognizing and celebrating sustainable leaders, we take crucial steps towards making trade fairs and exhibitions climate neutral. Our collective efforts are driving meaningful change, demonstrating that every step towards sustainability, no matter how small, contributes to a greener future." Let's work together to create real change with the STEP Team: Markus A.W. Hoehner, Steffen Klink, Jens Mürke, Ben Low, Svenja Putz, Eva Francis Benz, Julia Lünnemann, Mark Wilzinger, Jonas Koslowski and Kim Louise Wiersberg! #Community #CSR #CorporateSustainability #Sustainability

Trade fairs are highly relevant, extending their impact far beyond their specific industries. ✨ Personally, I am fascinated by these dynamic international marketplaces, where innovations are unveiled to set the stage for global progress. 🚀 Wolfram Diener, President & CEO of Messe Düsseldorf GmbH, shares his insights on this topic in his latest editorial. 📘 #TradeFairs #Innovation #MesseDüsseldorf
Trade fairs are where innovation comes to life. 💡 From here, they are launched into the world, where they make a positive impact far beyond their industry. 🌍 Encounters between people from different nations and disciplines combined with digital formats make this possible. For us as trade fair organizers, this means a considerable responsibility. We focus on the social, economic and ecological challenges of our time. Together for a fairer, healthier, and more sustainable future! 🌟🤝 In his editorial Wolfram Diener, President & CEO Messe Düsseldorf, explains our approach – right in line with the promise contained in the UN’s 2030 Agenda to “leave no one behind”: https://lnkd.in/e7ygxHwa #LeaveNoOneBehind #messedüsseldorf #innovation #participation #future #responsibility

🔜 ProductIP Networking & Knowledge Event 📅 Date: Friday, April 12 🕣 Time: 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM 📍Location: Regal Airport Hotel, Hong Kong International Airport, Hong Kong (a few minutes from Asia World Expo) Amidst the trade show hustle, it's critical for management, buying and category managers to balance commercial ambitions with compliance needs. In response to the positive feedback from last year's events, ProductIP, together with DutchChamand NHKBA is thrilled to offer a Networking & Knowledge session aimed at helping you navigate these challenges and address them in your meetings with suppliers and at your office. We've handpicked three topics from the regulatory tsunami to ensure you leave the event with a clear understanding of their scope and impact on products, pricing and internal processes. Key Topics: 👉CBAM: The EU's Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism is the new tool to put a carbon tariff on carbon-intensive products, such as steel, cement and some electricity imported to the EU. While it doesn't directly impact product compliance, the same teams often address it. Understanding the tax implications of imports and how they affect your operations is crucial. 👉 EUDR: The new EU Deforestation-Free Products Regulation (expanding on the EU Timber Regulation) adds stricter responsibilities, requiring the verification of sustainable product origins and the social and environmental circumstances in the supply chain. 👉 GRS: Global Recycled Standards is a certification scheme rapidly being embraced by large retail and trading companies. Though not a regulation, GRS encourages the use of recycled materials in packaging and products, supporting the growing movement towards a circular economy. Positioned time-wise between the Global Sources Consumer Electronics and Hong Kong Electronics trade shows, this event offers a valuable opportunity for those in Hong Kong, attending these trade shows, or on their way to the Canton Fair, to deepen their knowledge and, importantly, expand their network. Remember, business is about people! 👉👉 Reserve your spot today to confidently face the regulatory landscape ahead. https://lnkd.in/eP7ppa_p PS: Visit ProductIP at the Global Sources Consumer Electronics show to see firsthand how our digital product and supply chain compliance solution empowers industry leaders. April 11-14, 2024, BOOTH 8F06.

Many became aware of the tremendous significance of personal encounters only during the pandemic. Human beings need straight exchange. It became obvious, too, that good ideas need marketplaces – virtual ones or real ones. Usually, building trust begins with personal encounters. And trade fairs even may help solving problems worldwide; sustainability, energy supply and nutrition are just a few examples. Trade fairs are the best possible way to find new business partners in person and to stabilise partnerships. Another important point is that competition may be monitored closely.
