"Satellite technology has many facets. From defence to agriculture, the technology serves various industries and aids through efficiency and organisation for many others. With the recent advent of the Indian Space Policy and FDI allowance, the Indian Space sector is witnessing an upsurge of private companies, reshaping the way we look at space. To discuss all this and more, Ankit Bhateja, Founder, Xovian Aerospace interacts with Sachin Awana, Senior Sub Editor, Geospatial World."

ICYMI: U.S. DOT Highly Automated Systems Safety Center of Excellence Senior Scientist Sarasina Tuchen spoke last week at the AUVSI XPONENTIAL Show and shared the latest updates from the Advanced Air Mobility Interagency Working Group (AAM IWG). Sarasina joined a panel discussion with NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration Deputy in ARMD’s Mission Integration Office Nancy Mendonca; United States Air Force Sr. Technical Manager of Airspace Innovation and Prime Partnership Team John Sawyer; Federal Aviation Administration Acting Manager of Next Gen, Info-Centric NAS Operations and New Entrants Division Andras Kovacs; and moderator AFWERX & SpaceWERX Strategic Advisor Dyan Medina Gibbens. Some of our key takeaways from the discussion: 🗝 There is a need to continue this all-of-government, all-of-stakeholder approach, even after the AAM IWG report to Congress is delivered in fall of 2024. This can transform our transportation system to be more safe, equitable, and sustainable, and we need everyone to work together. 🗝 Public-Private Partnerships are important to scaling AAM operations and integrating them into a safe, multimodal transportation system of systems. 🗝 Community engagement, public trust, and education on AAM are the key enablers. 👉 Stay tuned for more updates on the AAM IWG’s progress and recommendations to Congress: https://lnkd.in/gJYaU6Tt AUVSI — Association for Uncrewed Vehicle Systems International #XPO24 #transportation #safety #aam #aamiwg #tech #futureofflight #airtech #aviation

Yesterday, our CEO Walter Ballheimer joined a panel at the German Aerospace Center (DLR)'s #SatelliteCommunications Conference in Bonn. He took the opportunity to challenge industry norms on spacecraft manufacturing: "If you look on the market, you will find dozens of spacecraft manufacturers. Most have standard platforms, which are claimed to be cost-efficient and quickly deliverable because they can be manufactured at scale. The real reason for that is, that standardization and mass manufacturing is the only answer the industry has found to cost and lead time sensitivity on the customer side. The truth, however, is that the customer never needs exactly this one-size-fits-all platform. There is always adaptation and there is always tailoring. In the end, neither the costs nor the lead time of the customer-specific solution is as promised." A big thank you to the other panelists Antonio Abad, Clemens Kaiser, Frederic C. Baker, Philip Plantholt, and Dr. Peter Guggenbach for the in-depth discussion on "Challenging the Paradigm: New Ideas, New Solutions, New Services." #SatKom #NextSpace
