This is a tadpole fish, or Raniceps Raninus.
They like cold water, and get their name from the fact they look like a really big tadpole.
They do not turn into frogs.

Six HOP MYTHS I’ll debunk in future articles on the MacKinnon Report.
1. The hops you select, sniff and rub in Yakima are the hops you get.
2. The U.S. has an effective public breeding program.
3. It’s best to buy the freshest hops because older hops are lower quality.
4. Without forward contracts, farmers can’t produce hops.
5. Paying the fair price recommended by the US industry helps support farmers.
6. Hop Growers of America equally represents all American hop farmers.
If you’d like to see any of these first, or if you have another hop myth you think needs debunking, please let me know in the comments below or in a DM. 🤔
In an upcoming post, I will make a list of hop truths that contradict the accepted narrative. That will be more shocking! Please like this post if you’d like to see that. 👍🏼

I have heard about Groundswell for years, and was thrilled to finally get my feet on the Cherry Family’s farm in Hertfordshire.
As the opening act of the morning, I showed some Roots So Deep clips and talked science results - and really enjoyed the extended Q&A with the 350 or so early morning attendees. I got to hang out with the Wildfarmed crew and the Yeo Valley Organic team – and basically eat my way across the festival.
I hope this becomes an annual pilgrimage.

In April, two adjacent cicada broods emerge from the ground. According to the University of Connecticut, cicada broods typically emerge together, but this year is unique. For the first time in over 200 years, both Brood XIX (appearing every 13 years) and Brood XIII (appearing every 17 years) will emerge simultaneously, leading to a season filled with high-pitched buzzing.
Do you love the sounds they make or does it irritate you?

🎯I'm giving hope to the fàrmer that they will be able to book certified seeds through our Mzizi platform this coming season.
Have you scheduled your harvest yet, to be able to access the formal market? You can also do that through Mzizi .

For the past two years, I've been involved in the making of a documentary that explores the rise of civet coffee tourism across southeast Asia.
Our film focusses on the trade in civets in Vietnam, the last remaining stronghold of the endangered Owston's civet (Chrotogale owstoni) and home to incredible conservation organisations working on the ground to save them.
This film was made on less than 1% of a nature documentary budget, created using second-hand cameras, a go-pro, our smart phones, and a lot of grit and determination to tell the civet's story. In-country filming was conducted in just 15 days- the tightest itinerary I've ever had to manage, and I've been leading oversees research projects for almost ten years.
We came home to a mixture of emotions. We saw some of the most harrowing situations imaginable from the mass trafficking of wildlife and the inhumane farming of wild animals, to the silent forests left behind after over-extraction of animals. Yet we also had the privilege to meet some of the most wonderfully skilled and dedicated people working to protect civets and the environment from exploitation.
I can only imagine what we could have achieved with more time, funding, and equipment, but I hope this film serves as an example of what can be achieved with good will, perseverance, and a shared drive for human-wildlife co-existence.
Since this film was pre-released in April, we've made huge strides in progress with the tourism industry, who are now taking action to protect civets from civet coffee tourism. This film is research and grassroots creative impact at it's very best.
We are truly endebted to all those organisations and people who have made this film possible, this really has been a team effort.
I urge you to take half an hour out of your day to watch this film. And I highly encourage you to follow and support all the organisations who feature throughout, they're the real hero's of todays animal welfare and conservation crisis.
