40 years ago, 'Conan the Destroyer' was released, continuing the saga of Arnold Schwarzenegger's iconic barbarian warrior. Early 90s, we recorded it from TV and watch it every Saturday morning. This sequel to 'Conan the Barbarian' (1982) introduced great characters and a story that remains a cornerstone of the fantasy genre: 1. Characters Conan - Known for his brute strength, determination, and honor, Zula - A charismatic warrior with a dynamic presence, Bombaata - A towering, loyal warrior wielding a morningstar, Queen Tamaris - A manipulative ruler who tests Conan's resolve, Princess Jehnna - A naive royal on a quest for a magical horn, Toth-Amon - A shapeshifting sorcerer and formidable foe, Dagoth - The monstrous deity and ultimate antagonist. The Dagoth creature was designed by Carlo Rambaldi, known for his work on E.T and Alien. 2. World-building The immersive world of Conan has enchanted castles, ancient temples, and mystical ruins, each holding a fair amount of danger. Dark sorcery, spells, and rituals like the awakening of Dagoth add depth to its world. 3. Story-arc: 'Conan the Destroyer' is built upon a classic hero’s journey: Call-to-Adventure: Conan embarks on a perilous quest, Allies & Enemies: Forming alliances (Zula) while battling foes (Toth-Amon), Trials & Tribulations: Facing mystical threats and challenges, Climax: The epic final battle against Dagoth tests Conan's strength, Resolution: Conan emerges victorious, solidifying his status as hero. By blueprinting these facets into our own AI videos, we gain a deeper understanding of how to bring fantasy to life. The intriguing combination of data, art, and social history. I have been eager to do a data project connected with art for a while and was very excited to have found the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) Collection dataset. This dataset has already been thoroughly explored since its publication. However, it was interesting to connect it to oh-so-relevant issues of social policy, migration in particular. To no surprise, my interpretation of the data suggests the great significance of immigrants' contribution to modern art, which applies to many other fields. #MoMA #dataart #artdata

In these films, people move with a purpose, lean from lives of labor. It reflects the times, and perhaps, the youth. A younger demographic dominates these frames, a necessity when life was a coin toss at birth. Survive youth, and you might just see sixty. Now, we stretch to seventy-five, eighty-five, thanks to science, to better living. But longer life brings its own shadows: heart disease, diabetes, cancer. More of us reach these years, so more of us face these trials The AI-restored footage is a window to what was. It shows progress, in health, in years gained.
