Let’s face it: finding a job in the Salesforce ecosystem is tougher than ever, especially for career changers and entry-level professionals. Yet, there’s so much talent out there that we, as hiring managers, would kill for once the market shifts again. How do we break the vicious cycle of hiring based solely on certifications or years of experience? Consider focusing on the following Trailblazer characteristics and you, job seekers, make sure you highlight them as much as possible: 👉 Work experience outside of Salesforce that translates well, including your transferable skills 👉 Showing attitude, determination, energy and communication skills using creative forms like a video instead of a cover letter 👉 Great preparation for an interview with a solid elevator pitch (check out this Trailhead module https://lnkd.in/e-f8dfPi) 👉 Participation in the Trailblazer Community, investing in networking and ability to build relationships 👉 Actively skilling up on Trailhead, Clicked or other learning platforms as a demonstration of continuous professional development Based on my experience, these traits can set individuals up for success in certain roles even more than a long list of certifications. Give it a thought, too! #trailblazercommunity #trailblazers #salesforce

Good sample of the 35K submissions we’ve received in the past 6 months. Question about selling at ServiceNow: For Commercial/Enterprise Sales Execs, how is the pay structured? What % is salary and what % is commission for OTE? Is the commission paid on any draw or always actuals? 4 answers, this one was interesting: "50/50, no draws or ramp you are given full quota day one. However, you will step into many deals and often step into deals that are actively closing while you onboard." See sales team Q&A at ServiceNow: https://bit.ly/4bOA3wp Question about selling at IBM: What is the sales management style embraced at IBM? 5 answers, this was interesting: "Methodologically, you have to appreciate the 100+ years of selling technology experience distilled into a solid sales method. It has a lot of accountability ingrained, clear steps and expected outcomes. You need to understand that first and all the tools that you have at your disposal to make your quota. On average, IBMers go through 1.5 months of training per year and more if they are on a sales role. I have not encountered yet a more sophisticated (and at times infuriating due to its complexity) selling machine. Think of it as riding a worm on Arrakis ... :)" See sales team Q&A at IBM: https://bit.ly/49uBsXp Question about selling at Fivetran: How satisfied are you with the sales commission structure at Fivetran? 5 answers, this was interesting: "New CRO hired in November has already previewed a much better plan heading into next fiscal year beginning 2/1. 2023 plan was extremely complex and did not align with realistic targets." See sales team Q&A at Fivetran: https://bit.ly/49sR1ix Question about selling at Qualtrics: How effective is the sales training program at Qualtrics for new hires looking to excel in the field of sales? 5 answers, this was interesting: "It’s terrible. Sales enablement team that would run the onboarding got slashed with the layoffs back in October. Main training you get is from the tenured reps on your team. If you’re looking for support from your manager, it’s a hit or miss. It really depends on the manager." See sales team Q&A at Qualtrics: https://bit.ly/49rla1J This stuff is just out there for you to consume it across 1000s of sales orgs. Good luck! ✌️

In the #recruitment and #talentacquisition world, August is usually one of the quieter periods with hiring managers on holidays, and clients holding off signatures until the Autumn. I like to use this time well and think forwards without the time pressures my role can so often be put against. Therefore I am keen to speak to my #salesforce network if you are thinking of a change of role over the next couple of quarters, some career advice and pathways, or anything related to the #salesforcetalentalliance. No hard sell (I try not to come across like this anyway!), just a good old-fashioned conversation about the current market and your career aspirations/choices. Drop me a message and we can get something arranged 😊.
