Great to be published in BIM today talking about the need to collect better data more effectively for existing buildings! BuildAudit continues to be a brilliant project to work on, and we would like to invite organisations to register their interest in the project and potentially help us to test the tool early next year, by emailing buildaudit@bregroup.com.

The architectural landscape is on the brink of a profound transformation driven by the integration of AI. No longer can we rely on monotonous designs; innovation must become the cornerstone of our profession. Architects who do not embrace this evolution will quickly find themselves left behind. Harnessing AI not only enhances creativity but also redefines efficiency and sustainability in design. As we look to the future, let us create facades that not only reflect our environment but also shape it, ensuring our buildings stand as beacons of progress and identity.

Learn about the applications for AI in AEC at Builtworlds Summit, Toronto! Our CEO, Francesco Iorio will be on the panel!
There is perhaps no technology with more disruptive potential than artificial intelligence—which is particularly true for construction, which is suffering from a prolonged (with no end in sight) labor problem. Still, without a dominant AI use case in the AEC space, it remains a tech that alludes effective implementation. And that is exactly why it's a topic we'll be diving deep into at our upcoming Toronto Summit. In a discussion led by BuiltWorlds Senior Advisor Rosemarie Lipman, experts Ezequiel Machabanski, CFA, Daniel Barbeau, Eng., M.Eng, Francesco Iorio, and Phoebe Zhang will tackle AI implementation at the enterprise level. The panel will leverage the unique perspectives of our innovation-minded contractors, solution providers and investors to uncover approaches to a winning organizational AI strategy. 🌍 AI in Architecture and Design: Innovation vs. Sustainability Yesterday, I watched a thought-provoking video by Anders Lendager about the use of AI and its impacts. It got me thinking about the immense potential of AI to solve global challenges, whether it's creating more sustainable designs or optimizing resource efficiency. But there's a catch: the energy cost of AI. This is a critical factor we cannot ignore. The issue, in my opinion, isn’t just about AI itself but about the pace of technological advancement. Faster doesn’t always mean better. The capitalist drive for speed, scale, and constant productivity often overshadows the need to pause and assess the long-term impact of our choices. So, here’s the real question: 💡 How can we integrate AI thoughtfully, balancing innovation with sustainability? What if we slowed down to focus on quality rather than quantity? In the race for progress, let’s not forget that life is more about the journey than the finish line. I’d love to hear your thoughts: how can we ensure that AI serves as a tool for thoughtful and sustainable innovation? #kunstlicheinteligenz #aiindesign #aiinarchitecture #biophilicdesign #biophilia #QOC #arbeitzplatzexpert #qualityoffice

As the founder of Zepth and a global architect immersed in the intricacies of large-scale projects, I’ve witnessed firsthand the transformative power of technology in urban planning. Artificial Intelligence stands at the forefront of this revolution, offering unprecedented opportunities to tailor our cities into intelligent ecosystems that truly serve their residents. Imagine leveraging generative AI to create urban spaces that incorporate not only green areas and walkable infrastructure but also real-time data to adapt to the evolving needs of communities. The prospect of digital twins allows us to simulate urban changes before they occur, ultimately fostering resilience and progress in our environments. However, with innovation comes responsibility. Ethics in data governance isn’t just a regulatory checkbox; it's fundamental to building trust between communities and planners. As we harness AI’s capabilities, we must ensure transparency, prioritize privacy, and engage citizens meaningfully in the planning process. The question that looms as we progress is: How do we navigate the balance between leveraging technology's potential and safeguarding the humanity at the core of urban life? Your thoughts?
