How do numbers turn into colors? Once you choose the colors from the sampler, order the paints and start painting, you have in front of you 10, 20, sometimes 30 or more identical metal cans marked only with numbers that mean nothing to you. Meanwhile, when painting, you need to know what palette you have and have quick access to it. Before I start painting, I spend a lot of time on preparations - I will write about this in a separate post, but a very important element of preparation is marking the paint cans and sorting them - all shades of one color should be next to each other and be easy to identify. I can always count on Kolektyf when ordering paints and logistics - thanks! -------- If you want to know more about my work - just ask a question in the comment, I will try to answer! #painting #wallart #mural #muralart #muralist #paint #cans #colorpalette #acrylicpaint

Wet paint! Work begins on my painting of a Ryan PT-22 Recruit. Currently working on the grisaille (the gray values) layer over the imprimatura (the reddish color) layer of the background clouds. Then, I'll work in the values of the plane itself. Currently, I'm working these values in thinly with acrylics. After this grisaille underpainting is done and dry, then, I'll be glazing in the colors with oils. #painting #oilpainting #aviationart

I refer to my usual painting style as Controlled Splatter. I load my knife or fork with paint and bang it against a stick above my canvas. Gives me nice--random-shapes. About a year ago I started experimenting with -- Pouring --my paint. An example here. I enjoy the process and I think the paint likes being poured. -G- #arstractart #abstractpainting #gesturalpainting

Did a quick demonstration of mixing sunset colours that I used in the original painting I just completed. Sunsets are very beginner friendly, especially with free-form clouds. I also uploaded some short videos showing the painting process. Sunsets are usually warm, so take care to use a warm blue (like ultramarine blue), not a cool blue (like pthalo blue). Can use different pigments to what I chose but I listed what I used in this painting. I use a different palette for every painting, as that is my preference to make the most out of the colour pigments available (although I don't actually have an orange pigment tube paint in my collection - have mixed oranges myself). #painting #sunset #acrylics #arttips https://lnkd.in/gHtAaqeD

WIP of studying Light and color, form and textures. I’m currently trying to get better at establishing the shadows and light to give the different figures a more realistic feeling. This always has been a challenge for me. #art #artstudy #lightandcolor #sphere #texture #texturedpainting #textures #artcommunity #painting #paintings #grayscalecoloring #artistic
