The sportsmanship spirit is contagious in our HK Branch office! The Table Tennis station in our office social hub gets together our employees for blood pumping and endorphins spurring during lunch break and post-work play! Colleagues would gather as groups to enjoy the ping-pong practices, mini-competitions, or simply as the audience during their work breaks. Some new “ping-pong friendships” have built among those from different Departments and cultural backgrounds. Sports brings people together! No matter how hectic the daily work is, the sound of ping-pong, laughter and cheers around the Table Tennis station recharged everyone with happy and enthusiastic energy, which is essential for upkeeping our better work efficiency and morale when going back to our workspace. We foster our employees’ Work for Excellence by enhancing their Well-Being with an Inclusive and Harmonic work culture. #SMBC #SMBCHKBranch #PingPong #EmployeeWellBeing #InclusiveWorkCulture

🏀 Won second place in the 2024 community 3v3 basketball game, representing Sembawang Central! 🎉 It was an interesting game– a combination of two old players and two youths competing in the men's open. This highlights not only the good old times and the thrill of winning the game, but most importantly, the legacy- passed from one generation to the next. The game isn’t just about the dribbles and the adrenaline rush of the game. More than that, it’s the shared experience, mentorship, and the teamwork. It's about the legacy we impart for future generations to carry forward. Legacy is not just about leaving something for people. It's about leaving something in people. This is a great reminder to inspire the future generations to seize the torch and continue the race. #Basketball #SembawangCentral #Teamwork #CommunityEvent #legacy

You are invited! When: November 9, 2024 Where: Coharie Tribal Center, Coharie Tribe Hosted by: Grappling Ladies of the Southeast States (GLOSS) with AIWPN Contact for Vendors & Donors: Sam at email: Slhall0416@gmail.com This special event kicks off Native American Heritage Month literally and figuratively! It is aimed at raising awareness of the unique challenges Indigenous women face in today's society. Our goal is to highlight the numerous benefits Brazilian Jiujitsu can offer, including enhanced physical and mental health, confidence building, and self-defense skills. GLOSS is an organization dedicated to empowering and promoting female grapplers across the Southeastern United States. We recognize that Brazilian Jiujitsu is a powerful tool for improving both physical and mental well-being, as well as providing essential self-defense training. However, many Jiu Jitsu spaces remain male-dominated, which can be intimidating for women, particularly those new to the sport. GLOSS seeks to bridge this gap by creating supportive environments where women can connect, share knowledge, and train together. Event Details: Part One: • BJJ Demonstration/Introductory Class: A session focused on Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) to highlight its health benefits and self-defense techniques. • AIWPN Talk: A 15-20 minute presentation by an AIWPN representative on the challenges faced by Indigenous women, including key statistics and community support strategies. Part Two: • Open Mat and Q&A: An interactive session allowing attendees to ask questions, observe, and participate in the practice. We are currently seeking donors and vendors to participate. If you are interested, please contact the event coordinator, Sam through email: Slhall0416@gmail.com. Your involvement would greatly contribute to our mission of fostering a more inclusive and empowering community for women in Brazilian Jiujitsu, and the Indigenous women of North Carolina. #AIWPN #GLOSS #selfdefenseforwomen #NativeAmericanHeritageMonth

The truth is, it's not Divyang bodies that hold them back—it's the barriers society places in their way. Barriers of exclusion, prejudice, and low expectations. A missing body part doesn't make Divyang any less human, any less capable of greatness. Imagine a world where every workplace is accessible, every job opportunity is open, and every corporate culture is truly inclusive. Where we see Divyang individuals not as charity cases but as valuable contributors with unique perspectives and talents. The Paralympics show us what's possible when we invest in accessibility and provide the right support. We have a responsibility to create that environment beyond the sports arena. To open doors and build pathways that allow everyone to succeed. By embracing inclusivity, we not only uplift those with disabilities but enrich our workplaces, our communities, and our lives. Together, we can make a world where every ability is celebrated. 🌍💪 #Mindset #PersonalGrowth #Goals #Workplace #CareerAdvice #SupportNotPity #paralympics

Inspiring Acts of Sportsmanship: A Lesson for Us All In a memorable display of integrity and sportsmanship, Kenyan runner Abel Mutai was just a few feet from the finish line during a cross-country race in Burlada, Navarre, on December 2, 2012, when he mistakenly stopped, thinking he had completed the race. Spanish runner Ivan Fernandez, who was right behind him, realized what was happening. Instead of taking advantage of the situation, Fernandez started shouting at Mutai to continue running. When language barriers prevented understanding, Fernandez pushed Mutai forward, ensuring he crossed the finish line first. When asked why he did this, Fernandez responded, “My dream is that someday we can have a kind of community life where we push and help each other to win.” He emphasized that Mutai was the rightful winner and that taking advantage of the confusion would not have been a true victory. This story reminds us that true success isn’t just about winning—it’s about integrity, respect, and helping others. These are the values that we should pass on to future generations. Let’s embody these principles in our professional lives. Let’s uplift each other, celebrate rightful achievements, and strive for a community where everyone’s success is honored. Because in the end, honesty and ethics are the true victories. #Sportsmanship #Integrity #Leadership #Values #Inspiration #fyp #risebyliftingothers
