Feeling a little less sunshine-y lately? You're not alone! Shorter days can affect our mood. Here are some tips to keep your mental health in check: Lighten up your work/study space: Don't forget to open your curtains in the daytime or use bright lamps to mimic sunshine in spaces that are dark. +Boost your Vitamin D: Get outside in the sunshine. +Stay active: Get moving, even if it's just a quick walk. Exercise releases endorphins, your body's natural mood-lifters. +Connect with your Crew: Social interaction can help boost your mood. Reach out to your Crew when needed. +Self-care matters: Treat yourself to a warm bath, a good book, or anything that makes you feel good. If you're struggling, don't forget reach out for help. Our Pathways to Help is a great place to start when you aren't sure what help you need. https://loom.ly/1HXiFD0 #YourCrew #YouthMentalHealth #SuicidePrevention #Progress #Support #MentalHealthMatters #WinterBlues

Mental Health Awareness Week! Do you know there is a tool to help your Central Nervous System just in your fingertips? An interesting research has emerged from Hong Kong, where data from 14 studies and over 1400 patients has been pooled together to show that... (drumroll) ACUPRESSURE has a steady, positive and scientifically proven effect for symptoms of depression and anxiety! As an acupuncturist, there is a tendency to see acupressure as so much less. My mind especially tends to always doubt and overthink ;) Which is why I love research! And then analysing this research to read between the lines. This is just what I did with the mental health study mentioned above. You can read my appraisal of it, as well as concise key take-aways, on my blog, here: https://lnkd.in/ehDaJs4F And to anyone who is interested in a simple acupressure points to help insomnia, anxiety or just deep unwinding after work... I have something just for you in my Free Resources! https://lnkd.in/eyrGHyc6 :) Enjoy!

In line with this year’s theme, ‘Mind and Body’, it’s good to remember that it’s not only your physical health that needs attention! It is so, so important to take care of your mental health too, and in many ways these two facets help to sustain each other. It's Self Care Week, a timely reminder for us to prioritise our well-being. Self-care isn’t a luxury; it’s a foundation for resilience, balance, and mental health. This week, consider small actions that nourish you: set healthy boundaries, take moments of mindfulness, or simply pause to breathe. Also, can we all set an intention to practice self-compassion a daily habit, supporting ourselves so we can better support others. After all, looking after ourselves isn’t just beneficial for us, it positively impacts everyone around us. #SelfCareWeek #Wellbeing #SelfCompassion https://lnkd.in/dMZBvrvR

Its Mental Health Awareness Week 2024! 🗣️ Let's Talk: Normalizing Mental Health Conversations 🗣️ Creating a workplace culture where mental health conversations are not only accepted but encouraged is vital for fostering a supportive environment. Here's how we can make it happen: 🌟 Lead by Example: As leaders, we set the tone. Let's share our own experiences and show that it's okay to talk about mental health. 🎓 Training and Education: Empower our teams with workshops and sessions on mental health awareness. Knowledge is key to breaking down barriers. 💬 Promote Openness: Create spaces where everyone feels safe to share their experiences and seek support without judgment. 📢 Language Matters: Let's use respectful, supportive language when discussing mental health to avoid stigma. 🌱 Celebrate Success Stories: Highlight stories of resilience and recovery to inspire others and show that help is available. 💼 Provide Resources: Ensure access to mental health resources like counseling services and helplines for those who need support. ⏰ Regular Check-ins: Incorporate mental health discussions into our regular meetings and performance reviews to show that mental well-being is a priority. We wholeheartedly support The Kaleidoscope Plus Group in their mission. Their goal is to champion mental health and wellbeing, effecting tangible change by offering vital mental health support services to the community wherever they are needed. Please donate here to support them: https://lnkd.in/durw5Xan Let's make mental health conversations a natural part of our workplace dialogue. Together, we can create a culture where everyone feels valued and supported. #MentalHealthAwareness #WorkplaceWellbeing #EndTheStigma
