The impact of the historic FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ was one of the highlights of this year’s MISK Global Forum 2024, held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Coinciding with the tournament’s two year anniversary, Qatar 2022 CEO Nasser Al Khater took to the stage to reflect on the success of Qatar 2022 and the impact it had on the youth of the Arab world. Al Khater spoke about the importance of youth at every stage of Qatar 2022, from planning and execution to post-event initiatives. He praised the thousands of young volunteers, professionals, and entrepreneurs from across the Arab world who contributed to the event’s success, creating pathways for young people in sports management, technology, hospitality, and cultural diplomacy. He said: “The World Cup was such an important moment for Qatar. It was more than just an event, it was a matter of national pride for our country and our region. The opportunity to deliver this tournament was inspirational for a young team and organisation that grew into the challenge. We hope it inspires the next generation of people in our region who want to achieve what others say is impossible.”
It was an incredible privilege to host Nasser Al Khater and Hammad Al Balawi as speakers in a session that brought Qatar and Saudi Arabia together to discuss the transformative power of football and the FIFA World Cup. It was a dream come true to create a platform where these two nations united to inspire youth, encouraging them to look forward to the next big opportunity they can be part of. A session that embodies the belief that dreams can make the impossible possible. #MGF24 #Poweredbyyouth @MiskGlobal
Well said! And two years on, the World Cup continues to resonate not just as my favorite WC ever but a remarkable sporting event, and as a monumental catalyst for change in the Arab world. The WC was more than just football there, it was about pride, progress, change, hope and it had the power to inspire the youth. Al Khater’s words are a powerful reminder that when we face the seemingly impossible, we grow, we innovate, and we inspire others to do the same. The World Cup wasn't just a triumph for Qatar, but a beacon of possibility for the entire region. Cheers to the young leaders of today and tomorrow who will continue to dream big and achieve even bigger. 🙏🏻🥇🥳🔥⚽️⭐️
What an inspiring reflection on the transformative power of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™! It's incredible to see how such a monumental event can galvanize the youth, fostering skills and opportunities in diverse fields. The legacy of Qatar 2022 undoubtedly extends beyond the tournament itself, serving as a catalyst for future innovations and collaborations within the Arab world. This is a testament to the potential of sports to drive socio-economic growth and cultural exchange. Kudos to everyone involved for setting a new benchmark in event management and youth empowerment!
A leader is a dealer in hope A leader is one who sees more than others see, who sees farther than others see and who sees before others see. YOU ARE A TRUE HERO
10/10 is not enough to reward this World Cup, whether for the exceptional organization or the quality of the matches. It will be very very difficult, if not impossible, to do better. Thank you again for your trust and hospitality.
FIFA WORLD CUP QATAR 2022 was a great event, one of the unforgetable experience that the World has witnessed, an event that I lived from within as a member of one of the numerous orginising teams ( Last Mile Team). Truly Qatar deserves every better.
2022 was impressive and Nasser was a Giant!

1wQatar 2022 World Cup was a career highlight and a testament to teamwork and vision. As the then RQHSE Director for the Doha Metro and Lusail Tram networks, I witnessed how meticulous planning, collaboration, and commitment ensured the success of this historic, and compact World Cup that allowed fans to attend all four games a day during the group stages. In comparison FIFA 2026 will be hosted in 16 cities across three countries, the scale is immense, putting into perspective what Qatar achieved. Proud to now support other host cities in preparing their transport systems for mega events.
