ECHA's recently streamlined process for third-party consultations focuses on gathering data about alternative biocidal active substances. It helps in assessing highly hazardous substances for potential approval in the EU. Interested parties are encouraged to submit information on the societal impacts of alternatives and conditions for derogation. This consultation will enhance the evaluation process by providing additional insights beyond the application, aiding in determining approval and derogation criteria. The first consultations are expected to begin by the end of May on multiple active substances. 📢 BIOCIDES UPDATE - The European Commission has announced the draft 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗮𝗹 𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲 for the active substance 𝘀𝗶𝗹𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝘇𝗶𝗻𝗰 𝘇𝗲𝗼𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗲 (PT2, PT7, PT9) 🦠. The approval date is set for 📅 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝟭, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲. This indicates that companies selling biocidal products containing this active substance must submit their authorization applications according to the BPR guidelines before this date.
