Excellent food for thought for my fellow #startup #founders and #entrepreneurs Discipline, routine and saying “No.” Thanks, Stephanie Mehta, for your research and sharing your findings. As a 62-year-old startup CEO, establishing and protecting good habits is vital … yet, sooooo very hard. The daily rollercoaster of unexpected “pop-up” issues — financial, legal, personnel — requiring immediate attention to manage risk is one thing. Then there’s the product and marketing — the reason your company exists and the intense demand to drive traction and revenues so that your company not just survives, but is positioned to thrive. Articles like this help us reflect and reimagine our routines. Four things I work hard to maintain: ✅ Prioritizing sleep. For most of my life, I have lived on 5 hrs (or less). 😬 I’m up to 7 hrs. ✅ Daily prayer/meditation and devotion to focus my mind and heart. I use a bible app, Jesus Calling by Sarah Young and Hallow. ✅ EOS Worldwide — an entrepreneurial management system that helps ensure the right people are in the right seats working on the right things. Together, we define quarterly rocks and conduct structured weekly meetings to hold us accountable and resolve issues. ✅ Being present and spending quality time with my husband, family and friends — especially our granddaughter. This, sadly, is what suffers the most. I have more work to do here. Will keep following you to get more tips and life hacks from other CEOs. #ceos #mentalhealth #worklifebalance #godfirst #giveback

Don't let the EOS name fool you, it can be effective in large companies as well. A system like that can give owners, founders, CEOs, and department heads great relief by providing structure and clarity.

Not just CEOs, but many leaders and aspiring leaders suffer from that same struggle of not being able to shut off, of overcommitting themself, and a constant sense of needing to prove themselves.
