Know Your Body Series-Part 8: We all find Pranayam to be boring, don't we? But Pranayam is actually the secret ingredient for good health!! Although, our blood stream is naturally purified by eliminating the toxins through sweat, urine and stools but is it enough? Here, Pranayam is one more option to purify the blood stream, provide better oxygen to the body(as blood carries oxygen throughout the body) hence improving the health of our internal organs especially the heart. The practice of Pranayam helps reduce the pressure on the heart to function as well as other organs which in turn reduces the pressure on blood circulation in the body eventually reducing the BLOOD PRESSURE!! So, daily 15min pranayam practice is what every human being should follow. How and which pranayam one should practice is based upon the individual's health, geography, season, etc. DM us to know more! . . #yoga #pramayama #breathing #heart #bloodpressure #yogalife #healthyliving #instagood #medicalyoga #swasthyaitimedicalyoga #healthylifestyle #instagram #yogainspiration #bodypositivity #health #healthandwellness #wellness #yogainindia #yogainstagram #yogausa #yogacanada #yogaeurope #yogaasia #yogaaustralia

Apan mudra for gastric problems & happy life Good for those with IBS Apan vayu is one among the pancha (five) vayus mentioned in the yoga texts. The mudra which facilitates the apan vayu is called apan mudra. This mudra enables the excretory and reproductive functions. This mudra is recommended to be practised by a beginner for 10 to 15 minutes daily. For better results, it should be practised for 45 minutes daily.. How to practise? Sit on sukhasana or padmasana pose. Open up your palm facing upwards. The middle finger and ring finger should be folded and with the thumb, gently touch those fingers. The other two fingers should be kept straight. For better results please practice this for 15 minutes continuously Benefits It helps in expelling the negative energies. Thus, a practitioner of this mudra gets mental peace and happiness. Since practising this mudra improves the digestion, those who practise this mudra will be able to take better decisions. The practise of this mudra also helps activating the latent force or Kundalini in root chakra (mooladhara chakra) , leading one to spiritual awakening. #unnikrishnanyoga #NiraamayaRetreats #agastyasreeunnikrishan #unniyoga #apanamudra #yogaforgas #yogafordigestion #morningyoga #simpleyoga #agastyasree #agastyasreeunnikrishnan #unnikrishnan #unni

How impactful can a yoga practice be to mind and body? I’ve practised yoga for many years, it’s the yin to my yang, the cooling water to my pita fire, the balance point for all of my fiery activities, such as sports and strength training. It has also been highly impactful in my mental health journey of living with and accepting an autoimmune condition. Personally speaking, I can’t say enough about it benefits. I have also just come off a weekend, conference, addressing yoga and neuroscience, and the most modern research into its benefits for things like cancer, eating disorders, neurological conditions, sleep, insomnia, metabolic syndrome, as well as PTSD and complex trauma. My takeaways are there are a few things that yoga CANNOT help with if we are willing to give it a go. Despite what social media will tell you, yoga does not involve you turning yourself into a pretzel, upside down and inside out. Its practises are simple and accessible to all under the right tutelage. If you are on a health and healing journey or considering embarking on one, I highly recommend you look into yoga and it’s many benefits to body and mind. If you need a little help along the way, please reach out or If you have your own story to share of how yoga has transformed your life I invite you to share in comments. Namaste friends wishing you a beautiful day. #yoga #transformation #healing #mindbodycoach #mindbodytransformation #ayurveda #mentalhealth #healingjourney #health #wisdom

Yoga, an ancient philosophy focused on flexibility and a fulfilling life, emphasizes the importance of self-discipline and perseverance in achieving liberation from mental vulnerabilities. It postulates that "spinning in the wheel of mental instabilities, our true self remains oblivious." Unless we attain mental stability, we cannot realize the true nature of the soul. Therefore, Yoga is defined as the science of mental stability. This stability doesn't slow down mental faculties but rather tames the mind to one's will. The mind's nature is to spin around various subjects, often without differentiating between the important and the mundane. This excessive mental spinning leads to stress, eventually engulfing the intellect and creating chaos in our activities, throwing life out of balance. Today, many of us suffer from this chaos. Falling prey to this mental spinning leads to sedentary habits, giving rise to severe physical disorders. Becoming physically active is an effective therapy to break this vicious mental cycle. Walking, for example, has been scientifically proven to reduce stress and may help lower elevated blood pressure levels. At Kayakalp, we promote an active lifestyle. Our daily routine is carefully curated to ensure that seekers remain positively engaged throughout the day. Whether it's morning Yoga or our therapies, everything is focused on both active and passive forms of movement. Moreover, our campus is infused with vibrant green energy. If you ever feel tired from the activities, you can simply sit down and breathe in the revitalizing energy that our campus freely offers. Join प्राणायाम ध्यान (Pranayam Dhyan) batch, every Saturday 8am IST. . Our Neck is given an a lot of importance in yoga. Through our neck- ✅all the sensory sensations of the body reach the head ✅all the commands by the brain come down to the body ✅important blood vessels, nerves, ✅thyroid and parathyroid glands, ✅respiration is also facilitated through neck, ✅swallowing the food for digestion happens via neck. . ➡️When the neck is healthy, the energy flow is proper and we also have Energetic centre- Vishuddhi chakra at throat region. . For this we have Brahma Mudra- Brahma is that aspect which causes creation. depicted with 4 heads for the 4 Vedas. And Veda is knowledge/truth. ❓How to Pracitce- ➡️the neck is also rotated in 4 directions, in sycrony with breath - for mental physical harmony. ➡️Inhalation- moving head away from centre. ➡️Exhalation- bringing head back to centre ➡️Beej mantra ( Beej is a seed which has the potential to grow into tree) is chanted with the practice as it has the potential to bring us in tune with natural rhythm for harmony and health. ➡️Turn only the head- not the body. ✅Benefits- 1️⃣Physical level- effect on head, neck, shoulders and upper back. It also gives deep relaxation. 2️⃣Brings a BALANCE in PERSPECTIVE. Looking at a situation from all different angles/perspectives. 3️⃣ as head moves- taking attention to different directions but then finally bringing it in CENTRE- WITHIN, where we are peace with ourselves. 4️⃣ Psycho- somatic harmony- mental harmony . . #brahmamudra #yogicknowledge #yogicwisdom #yogiclife #yogaphilosophy #yogaforall #learnyoga #pranayam #pranayambatch #onlinepranayam #learnpranayama #practicepranayam
