2 out of 3 employees consider leaving a job due to a lack of career growth.* I just made the 5 year-mark at Precis and boy have I not experienced that feeling. In 2019, fresh-out-of-Jönköping International Business School me, dreaming-about-working-in-marketing me, applied for a job as an associate digital specialist and got it. Did I know about CTRs and Hook rates? No. Did I know about diversity at the workplace? No. Did I know about creative strategy? No. Little did I know it was going to be the best decision I could have made. Starting in media and over the years growing over to bridging the gap between media and creative has given me more growth than I could have ever dreamed of. What a workplace to start, and continue to grow! * LinkedIn Workplace Learning Report, 2023

Formal education isn't everything; especially in Marketing. Things change too fast. Here's how I look at it with myself. If I had to describe my work experience in bullet points: - 8+ years of PR experience in the tech industry, in hardware/consumer tech. - Proven track record of securing tier-1 media coverage - Strong relationships with regional tech and business media - Experience managing PR agencies and external partners - Skilled written and verbal communication skills - Experience with PR tools (e.g., Meltwater, Cision, media monitoring platforms) And last but not least: - Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Masters in Computer Science. In reality, more of a four year party plus a gap year. But anyway, I did graduate! I deliberately put my education at the bottom of my CV as: a) It was a long time ago! b) It only served as a foundation It's common practice for CV's but I also adopt this approach when talking to customers or anyone about my past. Everything I've learned has been practical via the work place; from bosses, colleagues, clients, customers and people at large. Don't sweat education. Learn as you go. P.S - Spot me in this photo at university in Hong Kong.

🔥WSU-ERS SHARE THE PASSION - FROM “CRUSHING ON” MARKETING TO LANDING A PROJECT COORDINATOR POSITION AT BOSCH GLOBAL SOFTWARE TECHNOLOGIES VIETNAM. Tam Nguyen Pham Nhu, a final-year Marketing student and a well-known face in Western Sydney University's Vietnam campus, shares her meaningful journey of choosing her major and career path. From her high school years, Nhu Tam actively participated in extracurricular activities and social projects to gain closer insight into Marketing. She emphasises the importance of self-discovery during high school to choose the right major. Her decision was influenced by the university's open learning environment, student-centred curriculum, and high-quality education, all of which resonated with her criteria. During her time at university, Nhu Tam demonstrated enthusiasm in both academics and student activities. One of her proudest achievements was balancing her studies with work and personal passions. Thanks to the university's flexible schedule, she interned as a Strategic Planner at DDB Agency by the end of her first year. Additionally, she served as Project Leader at CareerHub VN, a journey that helped her grow, enhance her soft skills, and gain marketing knowledge. Despite her busy schedule, she still successfully maintained the Vice Chancellor's scholarship at WSU. As a final-year student, Nhu Tam offers three pieces of advice for those considering Marketing: 🔹 Get real experience: Reading reviews and hearing stories from seniors is helpful, but firsthand experience is essential to determine if a major is right for you. Choosing the wrong major can mean missing out on in-depth knowledge in a field you love. 🔹 Data is crucial: While creativity is important, Marketing is highly strategic. You need to handle both quantitative and qualitative data to make informed decisions. 🔹 Be adaptable: Marketing is constantly changing and full of challenges. Be ready to pivot when things don't go as planned. Nhu Tam has a passion for Event Management alongside Marketing. Currently, she is a Project Coordinator at Bosch Global Software Technologies Vietnam and plans to pursue a Master's degree in Event Management to enhance her expertise. Nhu Tam's journey is not just a personal story but also an inspiration for high school students preparing for university. #WesternSydneyVietnam #WSUBBUS #Marketing #CareerInspiration

📌 The Power of Mentorship in Branding In the dynamic world of branding, mentorship is an invaluable gift. During this summer exchange, being guided by industry giants was a transformative experience that shaped my understanding and approach to branding. Mentors do more than share knowledge; they offer wisdom and insight gained from years of experience. In branding, where creativity and strategy intersect, their guidance is like a compass, helping you navigate complex challenges. The mentors I worked with didn’t just teach me—they inspired me to think critically, push boundaries, and trust my instincts. Their feedback was enlightening, offering a balance between constructive criticism and encouragement. They shared both successes and failures, showing me that setbacks are opportunities to learn and grow. This experience was more than just a learning opportunity; it was a pivotal moment in my journey, reinforcing the importance of mentorship in shaping future leaders. I’m deeply grateful to Prof. Dr. Christoph Kochhan, Natalia P., Les Hollingsworth, Taryn Hersch, MS, CPRW , Mark Colvenbach, Branden Grimmett, Ed.D., Li Yann Long, @Christiane Jost, Alexander Moutchnik, @Andrea Gschwendtner, Veronika W. and Portia Nondo for their invaluable guidance and support throughout this journey. Their mentorship has been a guiding light in my career, and I will carry these lessons forward. As Maya Angelou once said, “When you learn, teach. When you get, give.” #MentorshipMatters #BrandingJourney #StrategicBrandManagement #GrowthMindset

They say that a lot can happen in one year, and 2024 proved that true for me. This year was full of growth and self-reflection. I graduated with my bachelor’s degree and became a full-time graduate student. Through high-level projects, I enhanced my skills as a future marketer and refined my unique style of work. From one networking event to the next, I met incredible people and engaged in enriching conversations. Every moment brought me closer to becoming the individual and professional I aspire to be. In 2025, I’m determined to keep growing, learning, and striving to be even better. Here are some goals I’m setting for myself in 2025: 1️⃣ Be more active on LinkedIn—engaging with the inspiring professionals on this platform. 2️⃣ Write more often and share the stories I’ve been waiting to tell. 3️⃣ Plan & attend more coffee chats to learn from others’ journeys and have meaningful, life-changing conversations. 4️⃣ Challenge myself creatively through graphic design, photography, and video production. 5️⃣ Take risks—embark on crazy adventures, try new hobbies, and push my comfort zone. 6️⃣ Learn a new language—20 minutes of Korean every day! 7️⃣ Explore new trends and seize opportunities to grow as a young marketing professional. 8️⃣ Land my first full-time job at a company I truly admire! I hope this post inspires you to set some of your own goals for the new year. Here’s to a year of bold steps, personal growth, and unforgettable milestones. Let’s make 2025 our best year yet! 🌟
