Cycling is one of the most climate-friendly modes of transportation. It therefore should play a crucial part in European and national climate policies, in particular since the transport sector is very much lagging behind other sectors in decarbonising. With the draft National and Energy Climate Plans, EU Member States have been putting their 2030 reform plans to the European Commission. For some countries, adding up to an hour of active transport per day for adult populations can save over 10% of GDP per annum in avoidable costs. Yet, over half are still taken by motor vehicles. ⚡ E-bikes extend travel range to 10km, making 𝟳𝟱% 𝗼𝗳 𝘂𝗿𝗯𝗮𝗻 𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗽𝘀 suitable for active mobility modes.
