Let me tell you a bit about the body of Sugar Loaf Cardigan.
🧶 It’s knitted in one piece which means the slip stitch pattern around the bottom has no interruption with seams.
🧶 The body has two length options. The full length is shown here. However, many people like their sweaters and cardigans to finish at the waist - and so the short version (available in all sizes) finishes just below the waistline.
🧶 The armhole shaping is a hybrid of a classic inset sleeve (with stepped cast-offs at the underarm) that then moves into a raglan shaping. Why? The raglan shaping is classic and really nice visually, but raglan armholes can end up being far too deep, sometimes going down almost as far as the waist in some larger sizes! This hybrid gives a better fit to the armholes at all sizes.
Pattern is available on my website, Ravelry and Payhip.
Pic id: The back view of a woman wearing a pink hand knitted cotton cardigan that finishes ‘mid-bum’ over dark blue jeans. There is a wide band of slip stitch patterning in deep teal, raspberry and pickle green around the hem.
