What a great evening to appreciate the work of Tui Emma Gillies and open her impressive exhibition titled 'View From the Deep'. The occasion included words from Tui with her mother, poetry from Tusiata Avia, tapa ngatu art, and AI-generated videos informed by the tapa art! As I looked around the room, at the people and the art, I saw a clear reflection of Tagata Moana Trust vision of STEAM industries where #PacificPeoples thrive and are propelled forward by #AncestralInnovation. The exhibition will be showing until 12th May. #FibreGallery is open 10am-4pm on Wed-Fri and located at 285 Cashel St.
