My recent work with a number of clients, particularly in the IT industry has highlighted an interesting shift many organisations are making back to offshoring. My long experience working with clients that have done this, is that while it may be a significant cost reduction to the bottom line, many organisations underestimate and fail to prepare for the challenges and impact of working across one or more cultures. When offshoring attempts fail. It's sometimes because companies fail to bring the offshore employees into the fold. They end up feeling like they're not part of the business and not included enough which leads to disengagement and discontentment in their roles. Most of my clients absolutely nail this 🚀 with leadership going out to PH to train their teams, quarterly in person catch ups for the offshore staff, collaborative slack channels, continual learning and feedback loops that work etc. It's really not rocket science but if you treat your offshore team like your local team and make extra effort to create an engaging environment you'll be on the right track for offshoring success. #offshoring #oneteammindset #phjobs
