The new space frontier: PORE SPACE! Why are Oil and Gas companies not required to report on their 'access to spore space'? CO2 storage 'reserves'? In a carbon constraint world access to pore space is a valuable asset, key enabler, and therefore essential information for both traditional and climate-concerned investors. As far as I am aware only one company is including this in their annual reports at the moment. Santos in Australia. Unconfirmed reports state that Ørsted are offloading a 50% stake in their 'Hornsea 3' offshore wind development. Brookfield announced in October that it bought a £1.75 billion (US $2.2 billion) stake in four of Ørsted’s operational wind farms in British waters. It's reported that Bank of America and Groupe Crédit Agricole are advising on the sale. Reliable, renewable electrical supply is the new boom of our century. As solid and liquid hydrocarbon fuels scale back, the new rivers of gold will flow from bulk electrical supply. As one economist said, "there is no such thing as a low-energy rich nation." And the next energy boom will be electricity. With $475 million, we’re accelerating clean energy deployment in America’s mining communities—supporting jobs and economic development in the areas hit hardest by our evolving energy landscape. The five projects in Arizona, Kentucky, Nevada, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia cover a range of clean energy technologies, from solar, microgrids, and pumped storage hydropower to geothermal & battery energy storage systems. Three projects are on former Appalachian coal mines, which supports economic revitalization and workforce development on land that is no longer viable for industrial purposes. In the West, two projects seek to displace fossil-fuel use by ramping up net-zero mining operations and providing the critical materials needed for a robust, domestic, clean energy supply chain.
