Our media outfits in Nigeria can do better -I was live at the JAMB POLICY MEETING IN ABUJA to set the tone for tertiary institutions admissions and JAMB or FG never set a cut-off mark - they gave each tertiary institution an opportunity to set and submit their own cut-off marks and it was adopted at this policy meeting for 2024 admissions. Here is proof and it is just one picture of several I took for other tertiary institutions that was adopted yesterday. Our media outlets are either lazy or simply being sensational for click baits because nowhere did JAMB set a cut-off score. Lastly, the 140 score set by most private universities is simply for economic reason so they are able to attract customers whose score fall within that bracket and I can tell you for free that a JAMB score isn’t a reflection of one’s future potential. At the high school level, we can admit all cadre of students so why can’t the same be for private universities that don’t mind your low JAMB scores but have a better and more robust process that can mould these students to become successful in future. We should stop sharing ignorant statements or comments including the fact that we are sharing false click bait oriented news. Ndubuisi Ekekwe
