On 21 December, myself and Rachel Kaleem the longest night of the year, will be walking 5k to help Childline be ready for every question this Christmas. On average, a child contacts Childline every 45 seconds and last Christmas, 5,499 children contacted Childline to ask for help. Help me reach my £100 target by donating to my page. https://lnkd.in/eXwcvq5K How your donation could help: - £4 could pay to answer a life-changing call to Childline - £29 could pay for a Childline supervisor for one hour, supporting our volunteer counsellors - £48 could help answer a call from one child every day over the 12 days of Christmas - £100 could help our trained volunteer counsellors to answer up to 25 calls for help to Childline https://lnkd.in/eXwcvq5K

Well, folks, I'm wrapping up another trip around the sun on November 14, one week from today. I'm one year short of a significant round number. I'll leave it to your imagination which round number that is. To mark the occasion, I'm rolling out this special promotion for my Local Food Forum. If you become a new paid subscriber between now and November 21 (that's the two weeks bracketing my big day), I will donate 20 percent of the proceeds — that's right, 20 percent — to The Evolved Network NFP non-profit. Check out this article to learn more about The Evolved Network and why your subscription/donation is a win-win.

Worthing is so fortunate to have Worthing Community Chest to give grants local non-profit community groups, which make a difference to so many lives in the town. Did you know that you can easily help raise funds for Worthing Community Trust by donating your old clothes via their textile recycling bins? Perfect if you're having a summer clear out!👚 👕 ♻ The green/turquoise bins (there's some debate about the colour!) are dotted all over Worthing. Find your closest one on the handy map below: 📍 https://lnkd.in/ezeW8grn In the bin, you can put: - All clothing and other textiles such as bed linen, cushion covers, blankets and tea towels - Shoes and other footwear including socks, boots and trainers -Unfortunately they can’t take pillows, duvets, sleeping bags, tents or mattresses https://lnkd.in/efJ-uD3x I'll take a photo when I visit a recycling bin and I'll do a poll on the colour 😁 #TextileRecycling #Worthing #CharityGrants
Last night, Nicola and Laura were honoured to attend Worthing Community Chest's AGM and hear about the exciting future plans for support they will give to local grassroots charities. Worthing Community Chest has generously funded a portion of this year's Between the Blue Film Festival, and we're incredibly grateful for their contribution. The festival simply wouldn't be possible without their support. A big thank you to Susan and the entire Worthing Community Chest team for your tireless efforts to enrich the lives of people in the community. Your work is truly making a difference. #Worthing #CharityFunding #Community

The only thing more satisfying than applying a RAPAID sticker perfectly straight and without a single air bubble is knowing that a passer by seeing that sticker could save a life! 🙌🏽 The RAPAID stickers in the front and back windows of a cab are a really important part of each installation because they enable members of the public or emergency services to identify which cabs are carrying a RAPAID emergency bandages kit. Don’t forget, if you see one, help is at hand, and the driver has agreed to be part of our campaign. 🤩 We always love to see pictures of cabs you’ve spotted with our kits, so if you do see one, take a snap, share it, and tag us📸 – spreading the word is a great way to help our cause.🙏🏽 #emergencybandages #bleedkits #stopthebleed #charity #fundraising #donate #rapaid

Abel & Cole | B Corp™’s initiative with the Children's Book Project is an inspiring example of purpose-driven impact in action! 📚 Through this partnership, they’re not only using their delivery network to provide sustainable products but are also supporting access to education by ensuring children experience the joy of having books of their own. It’s a powerful reminder of how businesses can creatively leverage their resources to make meaningful contributions. At Nafford Junction, we know purpose-driven marketing isn’t just about a campaign—it’s about integrating mission and values into everyday operations. Giving a child a book they can own can be a powerful investment in their future and their wellbeing. That’s why we’ve been working with the Children's Book Project to do just that. Using our business to do better, as a B Corp. So we put out the call to our shoppers to leave out any children’s books they’d like to donate and we’ve had a great response. On top of making our weekly deliveries, our incredible drivers have been collecting these donations, ready to bring back for our charity partner to sort and re-gift. We’ve estimated around 8,000 books have been donated and we can’t thank people enough for the kindness that this shows. From our generous shoppers and hard-working drivers to all the team at The Children’s Book Project. “Once again, the families that shop with Abel & Cole have amazed us by donating thousands of preloved children’s books to The Children’s Book Project. They are now on their way to new adventures with children, many of whom own few if any books of their own. Families can continue to donate books all year round at drop points or with free doorstep collections, by visiting https://lnkd.in/eCVDCxqv. Thank you for your support" Kristin Knell, Children’s Book Project. #Charity #Community #BCorp #Donation

And in this picture is the custodian of delivering this years Hamper Scamper Daniel Chun. It’s a huge effort, and responsibility, so please do dig deep and do what you can. Food: Festuve 5 is a real priority. A festive dessert – from Christmas cake to Christmas pud, Yule be adding a sweet treat to your shopping basket. Tasty biscuits or mince pies – whether you are team mince pies or team choccy biscuits, these little treats are the perfect way to celebrate the festive season. Chocolates – December may be the only time of year when chocolate for breakfast is acceptable! Share your favourites and add a box to your shopping trolley! Savoury snacks – sometimes it’s nice to break up the sweetness with something savoury. Now where did we put that tube of Pringles…? Hot drinks – like a hug in a mug, you can’t go wrong with a warming cup of hot chocolate, coffee or fancy tea.
If you'd still like to donate gifts specifically - you still can! 🎁 Our tagged gift referrals are all accounted for now (woohoo!), but we may continue to receive a few more emergency referrals over the next 2 weeks. By donating unwrapped gifts that any child could enjoy, you can us help make their Christmas a little bit brighter 🎄🌟 Emergency referrals are usually for children that have been thrust into difficult family or financial circumstances, children who could really really benefit from a nice present from a kind stranger ❤️ Check out our drop off points to deliver your unwrapped gift here: https://lnkd.in/eFTp-RXb #HamperScamper #Charity #ChristmasGiving #MakeADifference #NonProfit
