“We’ve signed up to use 1 Agency for the next X months / years” said the client… Pro’s - Build a solid relationship - no competition so one funnel of candidates Con’s - “Typically” they’re generalist and will struggle with niche requirements - They get lazy / complacent - Competition drives accountability to deliver (especially for us sales folk) - what happens if they’re not delivering - then where do you go? IF you’re getting frustrated with this scenario as a Hiring Manager, I can understand the premise to use one agency however, as per several of the roles we’re devliering on currently - it’s because of the reasons above! Happy to have a chat with any Medical Affairs hiring managers in this situation - always feels greater proving there is top quality profiles out there! 👌

Medcomms folks: Hire me, I love to bake for my coworkers. Ok, let me rephrase that: I’m qualified AND I love to bake for my coworkers. Now that I have your attention*, I’m looking for my next career move, perhaps a remote or hybrid (from Philly) role in medical affairs, pharma/medical copy, CME, or public health… …Or anything else I might not have heard of that suits my background, if you think I’d be interested. *Getting attention and engagement is my job, so if you made it all the way to the footnote, consider this post “proof-of-concept.”

Hiring a sr leader in cannabis? Industry experience is a MUST! if you’re looking to gin things up, this is a “can’t fail”. In reality, it depends. It depends on the role (maybe not necessary for the CEO, more likely so for the Director of Ops). It depends on the scale and stage of the company (probably not super important for the COO of one of the largest MSOs, probably more important for the <$20M operator). It depends on the complementary skill set of the supporting staff. It really depends on if flower products (bulk or packaged flower, prerolls) are included in the mix. Understanding why some flower does or does not sell is not always straightforward. Edibles and beverages, and even vape, are less nuanced.

With advanced degrees providing qualifications in Regulatory Affairs, what would you prioritise as a hiring manager? Does hands-on experience, such as starting as a Lab Technician and advancing into Regulatory Affairs, offer more credibility than a Ph.D.? We recognize that both paths have valuable contributions, each offering distinct advantages, as Regulatory Affairs rarely follows a uniform route to success. Could the combination of academic knowledge, practical experience, and a commitment to continuous improvement be the most effective strategy for driving success in this field?
