Coming soon........ Our current fragmented, compartmentalised curricula and standardised approaches to schooling and assessments are excluding thousands of students who go unnoticed and are underserved, yet seemingly educated but uninspired to tackle their immediate challenge as a result of the passive programming and dogma of colonial education instruments. To date, some of our traditional pedagogical methods and approaches still encourage a single solution to problem-solving and a way of thinking through a euro-centric lens, that is divorced from the realities of life and fails to equip learners with the capability to successfully tackle emerging issues from the complexities of modern life. From October 2024, we will be hosting a series of conversations with schools, teachers, researchers, students, and parents on the pathways of developing a curricular roadmap for this type of education (a model that recognises the gifts and talents of the learner), which encourages the combination of #technology, #AI, #data, and #human #problem-solving capability and #creativity. To achieve and operationalise this objective, we will be exploring ways to 📌 Develop curricular materials to engage students to discover the wonder of problem-based education through an interdisciplinary lens 📌 Use instructional design and scientific methodologies as a framework for critical thinking and problem-solving using technologies 📌 Explore pathways that encourage and nurture students’ confidence for choice-based/ self-determined learning If you are interested in creating something amazing that paves the way for greater inclusivity, creativity, and innovations in education- please join in! #Open #Education #Democratic #Learning

The Biggest Challenge in Education Today: Keeping Up with Change In today’s fast-paced, tech-driven world, the biggest challenge facing education isn’t just adapting to new technologies; it’s preparing students for careers that don’t even exist yet. Here’s what we’re up against: 1️. Digital Divide – Ah, the irony. Technology promises a world of limitless knowledge, yet many are still stuck in loading screens. Bridging this tech chasm is more than an IT project; it’s a rescue mission for InclusiveEducation. 💻 2️. Adapting Curriculum – Blink, and the world changes. Unfortunately, textbooks are still blinking. We need an education that moves as fast as the market, not something you could leave in a time capsule. 🔄 3️. Skills for Tomorrow – Critical thinking, creativity, adaptability, the stuff that could help you survive in a future ruled by AI. Yet we’re still cramming kids’ brains with trivia they’ll forget by next week. 📈 4️. Mental Health & Well-being – The only class most students excel in? Anxiety 101. Schools must teach resilience and support well-being or risk turning out generations of burnt-out grads. 💪 5️. Personalised Learning – AI classrooms and tailored lessons education could finally stop treating students like products on an assembly line. Imagine learning that fits the student, not the statistical “average.” 🌱 #EducationExclusive #EducationToday #EducationNow #EducationSystem #IndianEducationSystem

Looking back on my twenty-year journey as an educator, I am reminded of the profound impact teachers have on shaping the lives of our youth. Teaching has always been my true calling, a mission that fills my heart with purpose and drives me to make a difference in the world. In today's fast-paced society, the role of teachers is more crucial than ever. The introduction of artificial intelligence in our classrooms presents us with a unique opportunity to enhance our teaching methods and better support our students. AI allows us to tailor learning experiences, offer immediate feedback, and create engaging lessons that cater to the individual needs of each student. I can still vividly remember the long hours spent grading papers and planning lessons with meticulous detail. Thanks to the assistance of AI, I now have more time to connect with my students on a deeper level and inspire them to explore their passions and potential. The potential for growth and innovation in education is vast, and I am eager to see the positive impact it will have on our students' learning journeys. As we navigate this new chapter in education, let us hold true to our commitment to inspire, empower, and guide the next generation of leaders and thinkers. Together, we can foster a learning environment that encourages curiosity, creativity, and resilience, paving the way for a brighter future for all. I would love to hear from you, what do you think about AI transforming education for good? #Teacher #Education #Inspiration #FutureLeaders #AIIntegration

While #GenAI is new, technological revolutions are not. In fact, for over a decade we've been supporting education systems in addressing the ongoing innovation and disruptions of #edtech. Here's a reflection from our President about how educational leaders can think at the edge of the adoption curve while deeply valuing ethical use and individual privacy.
Founder | President - ALP | Educator | Entrepreneur | Trustee - Public School Forum of NC | Organizational Change Leader | Owl Afficionado
Adam Garry shared this article with me last week. It prompted me to reflect on the recursive nature of #edtech vis a vis #genai. 1. The text of this article could have been published in 2010 if the phrase 'Generative AI' had been replaced by 'Social Media'. A generation later, many of our youth (and adults) face tremendous social-emotional adversity because they plunged headlong into these platforms without guidance on the 'benefits and risks'. If we follow the recommendations in this article today, what unanticipated issues will challenge learners in 2038? 2. #GenAI is being unleashed by vendors on #k12 districts, teachers, and students faster than coherent, responsive policy can productively shape its application. While I agree with the author's encouragement that educators 'approach adoption...with deep skepticism', students and teachers alike are among the most dominant first adopters. Locally instituted literacy initiatives, common language frameworks, structures, and policies won't transcend robust legislation and industry standards. But before the latter is sustainably incorporated, we need to incubate and learn from those schools and districts that are iterating with a vision for scale. Why the Rush toward Generative AI Literacy in K-12 Schools May Be Premature
