The Need for the Skills Resource Centre The areas of Meethapur, Jaitpur, and Badarpur have long suffered from limited employment opportunities and economic stagnation. The lack of access to quality education and vocational training has left many in these communities unable to break the cycle of poverty. The Skills Resource Centre aims to address these challenges head-on. Our Mission The Skills Resource Centre is more than just a place to learn; it’s a place to grow. Our mission is to provide affordable and quality education to the community members, enhancing their digital literacy and employability. We believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to better themselves and their circumstances. Empowering Women and Girls A significant part of our mission is to empower women and girls. We offer professional makeup and beauty skills training, providing them with the tools they need to become self-sufficient and confident. By doing so, we hope to inspire a new generation of women who are not only financially independent but also role models in their communities. Nurturing Creativity Through Arts Education At the Skills Resource Centre, we believe in the power of creativity. We offer arts education to nurture cultural expression and creativity. Through these programs, we hope to instill a love for the arts and encourage our students to express themselves creatively. I love being a volunteer- It provides physical and mental rewards. You get a chance to give back and also learn. My personal advice to each and every friends of mine to experience the joy of giving… In PSR we focus on "Empowering Girl Child". We can say that we focus on education of girls child. The program's objectives is to establish and manage learning centers for girls in rural areas. The aim is to provide high-quality education to girls and ensure their successful transition into mainstream education. I think it is the moral responsibility of every citizen to do for betterment of society. With the Learning Adda program, Blue Parijaat not only benefits the students of our rural centers but also empowers women from these communities to become change makers through their role as teachers. The teachers connect with the families to mobilize and enroll students. They encourage, mould and nurture the children through regular sessions. There are regular meetings with the parents to guide them towards better participation in their wards' development. Not only do they teach, our teachers are dedicated learners too. They participate in weekly training sessions which cover a wide range of topics such as subject knowledge, creation of teaching aids, the art of story telling, classroom best practices, safeguarding of children, digital skills, data management, event planning. Most of the teachers are pursuing further education also in distance mode! Volunteer and Interview students for Team Everest scholarship over phone calls. You can interview at least 5 to 10 students. We will provide you with the questions. We will also do an online orientation to explain your role. You will help parentless, single-parented, and financially poor students pursue undergraduation. When Princy first joined the EL Build program, she saw the sessions as nothing more than playtime. As her technical skills grew, these sessions transformed into a platform for creative expression. However, they also highlighted her lack of social skills. With time, as she was encouraged to reflect and communicate, Princy began to fit in. Three years later, she rarely conflicts with peers, and her classmates have accepted her. Effective communication is essential for professional success, and Princy's experiences in the EL Build program will undoubtedly benefit her future. Like Princy, we aim to equip children from under-resourced backgrounds with essential life skills that will help them achieve success in future. Did you know that only 3 out of 5 girls in India are enrolled in higher secondary education? Even though the Right to Education Act 2009 promised free and compulsory education for children up to age 14, many girls still face barriers that prevent them from reaching higher secondary school. Societal norms, child marriage, and inadequate school infrastructure are some of the biggest challenges they face, often leading to them dropping out and discontinuing their education.
