Something you ought to ask yourself: How do you know that QR code isn't going to take you to a malicious website that will infect your device? Even if you know for sure it's from a legitimate company, how do you know the person who the company had make it didn't skimp and used a cheap malware-infected code generator that passes you off to a fake site that then redirects you to the real one? The answer is, you don't. For example: I know for sure that facebook . com takes me to Facebook. But I don't know for sure that a QR code designed to take me to a particular Facebook page won't take me to a fake website that looks just like Facebook, has me put in my username and password, and then transfers me to the real Facebook. Meanwhile, I just gave a fake website my Facebook login information. It happens all the time. These people who get hacked and post fake links on their profiles? That's a prime example. Be very cautious about the QR codes you scan, especially ones you find out in public.

Protip for businesses of all shapes and sizes: Be aware of who "owns" your Google accounts. Know that just "having the login" might not be enough. A username and password is great, but if you don't have the phone used to set up the account, two-factor authentication is going create major hassles for you. Related: Never, EVER let anyone sign up for these services using a personal email. A disgruntled ex-employee with access to the Google Tag Manager account is a very bad day just waiting to happen.
