**Navigating the Future with Sustainable Energy Solutions** 🌍 As climate change continues to pose significant challenges, the shift towards sustainable energy solutions is more crucial than ever. It's projected that global temperatures will rise by 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels by 2030, underscoring the urgency for action. 💡 I recall when renewable energy sources accounted for a mere fraction of our power supply. Today, they generate over 30% of global electricity, a testament to our progress and potential. 📈 Did you know that over $1 trillion was invested globally in clean energy technologies in 2021? This surge in investment highlights our collective commitment to a greener future. How is your organization contributing to sustainable practices? Let's share ideas to drive impactful change. #ClimateChange #SustainableEnergy #CleanEnergy #GlobalPolicies

To address Scope 3 emissions effectively, companies need a three-stage approach: -Strategize -Digitize -Decarbonize Strategizing involves establishing baseline emissions and setting strategic goals. Digitizing focuses on real-time tracking of energy use and carbon impact using digital tools. Decarbonizing entails transitioning to renewable energy, electrifying operations, and enhancing efficiency. Digital technologies are crucial in this process by providing visibility and data to make informed decisions. It's a collective responsibility that transcends individual interests, and it's essential for the well-being of current and future generations. #ClimateAction #EnergyTransition #Sustainability #NetZero

Electric grids are enormously complex, but when it comes to measuring carbon emissions, we can break things down into three key types of emissions calculations – grid average emissions, marginal emissions, and residual mix grid emissions – to help us understand the environmental impact of electricity use. Check out our latest blog, in which our head of strategy Shehzad Wadalawala explains those three concepts, offers some pros and cons of each, and explores when an organization might want to use them to measure its emissions: https://lnkd.in/gJVfKmuU #sustainability #ESG #carbonaccounting #renewableenergy

I had some interesting conversations at Clean Energy Buyers Association (CEBA)'s Spring Summit a couple weeks ago about the pros and cons of various emissions calculation methodologies (grid average emissions, marginal emissions, or residual mix grid emissions). They are complex topics, but I've attempted to provide a high-level overview of each type of calculation, their benefits and drawbacks, and why an organization might choose one over the other when measuring its emissions. Check it out and/or join the conversation here! https://lnkd.in/dvitCEKp #sustainability #ESG #carbonaccounting #renewableenergy
