Have you ever thought how much wasted steam your facility has each year because of failed steam traps? Failed steam traps can have a significant impact on an entire steam system; they waste energy, adversely affect production, increase maintenance costs, and create safety issues. Did you know that more than 45% of all the fuel burned by U.S. manufacturers is consumed to raise steam? It costs approximately $18 billion annually to feed the boilers generating steam. But there is good news. Many manufacturing facilities can recapture energy through the installation of more efficient steam equipment and processes. By improving their steam system, a typical industrial facility can realize steam savings of 20 percent. We are on the threshold of a revolutionary transformation in energy and mobility transition. A crucial element? Flexibility management in the distribution grids. As an innovator in power electronics equipment, we’re excited to join the CharIN global organization to promote combined charging systems (CCS) for all types of EV and participate in cross-industry testing initiatives. The goal of CCS is to create an environment where vehicles, chargers, and software systems work together to make the user experience reliable, easy, and smooth. 🔎 CharIN (Charging Interface Initiative EV) brings together over 300 cross-industry stakeholders to work towards interoperable charging for electric vehicles. The community is comprised of multiple experts and leading companies representing every link in the e-mobility value chain to define requirements for the evolution of CCS related standards and the certification of CCS based products. With our expertise in modular power units (MPU-R2) for fast charging, bi-directional charging (BMPU-R2) for Vehicle to Grid (V2G) functionality, and supply equipment communication controllers (SECC), we will participate in CharIN’s international expert groups which focus on the Charging Infrastructure and Connection, Charging Communication, Grid Integration and Energy, and Conformance Testing. Smart utility meters seen driving down manufacturing costs The willingness of managers to actually make use of ‘smart utility meters’ will be a deciding factor in reducing energy consumption and related costs in manufacturing, a new study said. The work also serves as a proof-of-concept for using “event system theory” – which has historically been used to understand the impact of unexpected phenomena – to tease out the practical effects of planned actions in the business community, such as adopting new technologies.
