Represented by geotechnical engineer Juan Andres Huang, Water Services and Technologies presented trends on the integration of regional hydrogeological models with geotechnical models, focusing on pore pressure distribution estimation. “This integration captures the three-dimensional nature of hydraulic gradients, a result of geological heterogeneities in mining complexes, such as fractured zones and/or low-permeability zones—an essential aspect for ensuring mine planning safety and efficiency,” Huang explained. Organized by RG Gold the event brought together experts from around the globe to share advancements and solutions that are transforming the industry, enabling greater accuracy in geotechnical risk management and groundwater control. The integrated approaches championed by Water Services and Technologies enhance planning and execution in open-pit mines, contributing to the preservation of water and environmental resources.

The Mini System is a complete nodal seismic system specifically designed to enable small-scale seismic projects, including research projects for the academic sector. STRYDE’s investment in the development of the Mini System, coupled with recent contract wins, represents a continuation in the company’s commitment to making seismic data accessible for any industry. I am delighted to share that my latest research titled "The Effect of Coir Fiber on the Geotechnical Properties of Clayey Soil, in Wudil, Northwest, Nigeria" has been published in The International Journal of Earth Sciences Knowledge and Applications (IJESKA). This research stems from my earnest desire to contribute to ensuring the sustainability and resilience of infrastructure worldwide. I aim to develop innovative strategies that enhance soil and ground conditions by utilizing natural substances and engineered composites, optimizing their strengths to boost infrastructure performance while reducing environmental impacts. This study explores the potential application of coir fiber as a soil reinforcement material, aiming to enhance the stability of foundations for construction. Maintaining adequate bearing capacity is essential to ensure the stability and longevity of structures. By harnessing the inherent properties of coir fiber, we can enhance the shear strength, internal friction angle, and bearing capacity of soil, resulting in improved load-carrying capacity and leading to more robust and cost-effective construction projects.
