Why Closing on Sundays is Actually a Win In our 24/7 world, taking a day off can feel like a luxury. But some places, like Bermuda and the Cayman Islands, have held onto a tradition that makes a big difference—closing businesses on Sundays. Here’s why it works: 1. Better Work-Life Balance A Sunday off means time to relax, recharge, and connect with family and friends. It’s a built-in breather that makes people more productive and happier when they get back to work. 2. Stronger Communities: When everything’s closed, people focus on what matters: hanging out with loved ones, attending local events, or just taking it easy. It brings folks together in a way that’s harder to find during the hustle of the week. 3. Sales Don’t Suffer: Worried about losing business? Studies show that customers just adjust their shopping habits. When stores in Germany closed on Sundays, people simply shopped more on other days—no drop in overall sales. Places like Bermuda and the Cayman Islands see the same trend, with businesses adjusting by having extended hours on busier days. 4. Less Burnout, Better Health: Giving people a guaranteed day off means less stress and more mental well-being. Especially in beautiful spots like the Cayman Islands, Sundays are perfect for a beach day, a hike, or just some solid downtime. Sunday closures are more than just a day off. They’re a way to bring balance, boost productivity, and keep communities strong. Sometimes, slowing down is the smartest move. #caymanislands #bermuda

🏠 Planning to Move Over the Holidays? Here's What You Need to Know About Notice Periods The holiday season is fast approaching, and if you're considering giving notice on your rental property, timing is everything! Here's a quick guide to help you navigate the notice period rules. During normal times, it's pretty simple: Your 28-day notice period starts the day after your landlord receives your notice (as long as you send it before 5pm for emails or texts). Think of it this way - if you give notice on a Thursday, your notice period kicks off on Friday. But here's the holiday twist! 🎄 The Residential Tenancies Act (RTA) has special provisions for the festive season. This year: Last working day: Monday, December 23 First working day of 2025: Monday, January 6 What does this mean for you? Let's say you pop your notice in during the holiday period (December 24 - January 5). According to the RTA, it won't be officially "received" until the first working day back - that's Monday, January 6. Your notice period would then start from Tuesday, January 7. Quick example: If you send your notice on December 21, your final tenancy date would be Tuesday, February 4. That's quite a difference from regular timing! 💡 Pro Tip: Factor these dates into your moving plans to avoid any surprises. Early planning is key during the holiday season! Got questions? During the #holidays, it's important to strike a balance between enjoying the festive season and keeping your business running smoothly. (Can I tell you how many years I have NOT done this...sigh) ☀️ One way to handle #business during this time is to plan ahead and set clear expectations with clients and/or #employees. (Talk about this in October or September) ☀️ #Communicate any changes in operating hours or availability well in advance to avoid any misunderstandings. (Again, talk about this in Q3) ☀️ #Delegating tasks and prioritizing deadlines can help ensure that work gets done efficiently without sacrificing the holiday spirit. Remember to take care of yourself and your team during this busy time, #HolidayBusiness #WorkLifeBalance #CommunicationIsKey #HappyHolidays 🎅🏼🎁 🎥: Paul Conmackie

Every career-oriented or business minded person has been confronted by hustle culture. Grind all day and night, no breaks, no excuses, etc. We have a different philosophy at ATB Social - Less Scrolling, More Living. We're no stranger to hard work, but balance is so important. We practice this culture within our team and ensure our clients have the support to follow this philosophy, as well. In the social media age, it's easy to think if you're not on grind mode daily, you're behind. But, that's not the case. We promote stepping away from social media, enjoying time off and coming back refreshed. That's why you never see us posting us working on vacation. We work so we're able to peacefully live the lives we desire. Enjoy some soothing sounds from vacation. No laptops in sight. Do you agree with this philosophy? #lessscrollingmoreliving #vacation #socialmediaagency #smallbusinessowner #womanownedbusiness
