INNOTRANS: The global rail market is worth approximately €180bn per annum. But surely the only place to see the industry come together in one place is at InnoTrans, the world’s largest transport technology trade fair. And by any measure, InnoTrans is vast. As at the last edition in 2022, organiser Messe Berlin expects the venue to be fully booked by the time the gates open on September 24. That means no less than 200 000 m2 of exhibition area will be available for visitors to explore — not merely the 42 halls, many of which are multi-storey, but also the famed outdoor tracks, where a parade of new rolling stock will be on display. It is ‘a show that always moves with the times’, with this year’s focus being on electrification, digitalisation and sustainability. It is hosting a display dedicated to AI for the first time. No other mobility trade show gathers so many decision-makers, movers and visionaries, where they can exchange ideas, negotiate business and finalise investments.

🎙️ Tune in to our CEO, Billy Tucker, as he shares his thoughts on PTE 2024 and discusses key insights surrounding the airport and mass transit space! 🚀 #PTE2024 #CEOInsights #AirportInnovation
Hello from the Passenger Terminal Expo in Frankfurt! I'm thrilled to be on-site, immersed in a world of new technology and innovation. Alongside five talented members of the Beonic team, we're engaging with our customers and checking out what other innovations are emerging in the Airport and mass transit space. This expo highlights the contrast between the rapid growth in passenger numbers and the slower pace of infrastructure development. Over the next three decades, passenger volumes are expected to increase sixfold compared to new infrastructure - a challenging but exciting prospect. I am immensely proud of the crucial role Beonic is playing in ensuring that this surge in passenger numbers does not detract from the travel experience. If you're attending, stop by and visit our booth. We're eager to connect with you and discuss how Beonic can help you. #passengerterminalexpo #frankfurt #travel #beonic #technology

Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) is a really interesting technology. Back when I were working in Banedanmark, we made an interesting study into useability and precision of GPR and ballast drillings. Drillings are naturally very accurate, but only in the specific spot where they have been made. GPR is relative to drilling inaccurate, at about 10% of the depth (10 cm at 1 m). However, it is also important to consider that GPR is a continuous signal, where drillings are discrete. So, how accurate are drillings mid-way between them? Our studies indicated that it were up to +/- 19 cm - double that of GPR and the double the formation layer's thickness. Furthermore, GPR (with some calibration drillings) are significantly cheaper than frequent drillings - in our experience up to 80% cheaper in total and also requiring less time and hence less capacity and track possession time. GPR fits well into linear asset management, where it can be combined with all other data to make complex decision support possible. I am a fan, and really curious to know why it is not used more. It would be great if anybody in my network has any thoughts on it.
Save the Date: Meet us at InnoTrans 2024 from 24-27 September in Berlin at Digital Railway Solutions (DRS) Alliance Hall 26, Stand 150 to discover ✅ our Ground Penetrating Radar Analysis for Trackbed KPIs ✅ our collaboration for digital track insights on projects such as Riedbahn ✅ our fellow Alliance partners Stay tuned for further info our set-up a meeting with us by contacting Wolfgang Alfanz. ⏳ 100 days to go: The final countdown for InnoTrans 2024 begins... ⏳ As always, you can expect a lot from Siemens Mobility in Berlin, and this year I am even more excited about the many solutions and success stories we can share with you. In 2018, we first presented our strategy of technology leadership. We have come so far since, and now the clear benefits of digitalization and AI are stronger than ever. You will see how by combining the real and digital worlds we can transform mobility for everyone! Three (of the hundreds) of things to expect 🔍 1️⃣ How our digital technologies deliver for customers 🤝 The S-Bahn Munich will set new benchmarks for rail travel with modular software, updates via the cloud, and 100% availability while you can see our Velaro high-speed train for Egypt as the country gets ready to deliver sustainable travel to 90% of its population. 2️⃣ How our digital technologies deliver for passengers 🚄 Examples of how S3 Passenger delivers dynamic pricing, ticketing, and reservations in Spain and how through CBTC we can reduce headways from 120 to 70 seconds over a 170km network in Copenhagen. 3️⃣ How railway digitalization can take us even further 🚀 At InnoTrans 2022 we talked about the potential of Siemens Xcelerator and APIs. InnoTrans 2024 gives us the chance to demonstrate how this is already working to maximize network capacity, to deliver 100% availability and up to 100% occupancy. Data is the new gold in unlocking the potential of rail travel! Thanks to our team for the preparations so far. I am looking forward to welcoming our customers from 24th to 27th September in Berlin at hub27. You can sign up for the very latest updates with our newsletter here: https://lnkd.in/eMHXj4c7 #TransformTheEveryday #InnoTrans2024 InnoTrans, Deutsche Bahn, Renfe, Banedanmark, DSB, Sqills, National Authority for Tunnels (NAT), Ministry Of Transport - Egypt.

🚆 Rail revolution at InnoTrans 2024: EXOES on Track 🚆 For our very first time at InnoTrans, Julien Baron, our Key Account Manager, was truly impressed by the full-scale exhibition of electrified trains on display. InnoTrans, Europe’s leading railway exhibition, attracted 170,000 visitors and 3,000 exhibitors. As EXOES expands further into the rail sector, with initial projects underway, this was a unique opportunity to witness firsthand the advancements driving the industry. 🚉 Julien explored the 133 vehicles on display and immersed himself in the growing trend of battery-powered trains, which have made significant strides in the past two years. 🔋🚄 The rail industry is seeing increasing demand from rail OEMs and battery manufacturers for specialized testing services. Whether it is support in establishing turnkey test centers or providing outsourced testing with a qualified supplier, EXOES is well-equipped to meet these needs. ⚙️Our expertise lies in our Lab and Test Centers, backed by 15 years of experience and more than 10,000 hours of testing across various battery technologies If you are a rail OEM or battery manufacturer looking for expert testing solutions, feel free to reach out to Julien Baron for more information on how we can support your projects! #InnoTrans2024 #RailRevolution #BatteryPoweredTrains #SustainableMobility
