𝗧𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗽𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗪𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗗𝗼? 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝘁’𝘀 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗙𝗮𝗶𝗹. Many events, from concerts to conferences, fall short because of issues that come down to the production team. Maybe the floor director isn’t familiar with the flow of the event, causing delays. The stage manager could miss cues or overlook important details like lighting or sound checks. The technical director might struggle to keep the visuals sharp, or the event director could lose track of the timeline, throwing off the entire program. It’s easy to think the lowest price is the best deal, but it’s critical to look beyond that. Who are the individuals on the team? What have they successfully executed before? How do they handle unexpected challenges? Do they work well under pressure and with others? Checking portfolios and asking about both their wins and lessons learned from tougher events can give you insight. The right production team isn’t just about price—it’s about skills, attitude, and experience. If you need a team that knows how to bring it all together seamlessly, reach out to me—I’ve got the right people for your event. #EventProduction #ProductionTeam #Director #SuccesfulEvent #EventManagement

🔹 Your Reputation is Your Greatest Asset 🔹 As someone who has had the privilege of performing on both West End stages and now leading Must Have Entertainment as Creative Director, I've seen firsthand how vital a strong professional reputation is in our industry. 🌟 In the realms of creativity and performance, your reputation isn’t just about today’s work; it’s about the legacy you build. Here’s why maintaining a positive professional image is crucial: 🎨 As a Creative: Your ability to bring fresh, compelling ideas to life sets you apart. Creativity is your signature, but consistency in delivering high-quality work, meeting deadlines, and collaborating effectively is what builds your reputation for reliability and excellence. Your name becomes synonymous with trust and brilliance. 🎭 As a Performer: Each performance is a chance to connect with your audience and leave a lasting impression. However, it's your professionalism behind the scenes—punctuality, respect for your craft, and how you treat your peers—that truly defines your legacy. A stellar performance coupled with offstage professionalism ensures a reputation that opens doors to future opportunities. 💡 Think Long-Term: Avoid the temptation to be short-sighted. Every project and every interaction contribute to your professional narrative. Upholding integrity, showing respect, and striving for continuous improvement are the building blocks of a reputation that precedes you and sustains your career. At Must Have Entertainment, we believe in nurturing talent that not only shines brightly but stands the test of time thorough their professional delivery. I bet we can all name one performer or company that we would choose not to work with if the chance presented itself... #ReputationMatters #ProfessionalGrowth #CreativeExcellence #PerformersLife #MustHaveEntertainment

One of the most exciting opportunities I’ve had in my career as an Event Architect has been stepping into the role of Art Director for a few Nollywood movie scenes. It’s amazing how many parallels exist between directing a movie scene and planning an event. Both require attention to detail, a deep understanding of storytelling, and the ability to bring a vision to life. But here’s the takeaway for my fellow event planners and consultants: growth opportunities are everywhere. Whether you’re directing a film scene or orchestrating a wedding, there’s so much room for creativity, leadership, and professional expansion. If you stay curious and open to new experiences, you’ll find opportunities for growth in every corner of your career. The events industry is vast, and the world beyond it holds so much potential for us to thrive. #EventPlanning #GrowthMindset #EventConsultant

I recently supported a new client by filling their need for a Deck Manager the day before the show started! “I just wanted to express my sincerest gratitude for not only helping us out last minute but for sending someone who far exceeded my expectations, especially given the limited notice! Kelly was an absolute pleasure to work with, he jumped right in as if he’d been part of the team from the start. Can’t wait to be able to work with him and your team again, thanks a million!” This gives me a chance to spotlight the fantastic, supportive role that a Deck Manager (Backstage Manager or ASM) plays in events! I know we often think of this role as someone backstage helping push presenters out on cue; but the support a Deck Manager provides to presenters is so much more valuable to the client/presenter experience! Deck Managers bring value: ✅ Provide emotional support: the last person the presenter sees before going on stage and the first person welcoming them back off stage! ✅ Prioritize client relations: they support the needs of your clients from rehearsal to performance, making sure their experience is positive and memorable. ✅ Partnership between departments: the role you can count on to watch for unprecedented challenges and the safety guard behind stakeholder management! This is an absolutely crucial role for event agencies looking to impress their clients and leave them feeling cared for. I could not recommend getting a Deck Manager for your next event MORE! Let me know if you want a highly skilled freelancer to Deck Manager your next show: https://bit.ly/3K4M1Wh #EventProduction #DeckManagement #EventSuccess #ClientRelations #EventPlanning #EventManagement #ProfessionalEvents #EventContractor

Ever wondered what a Show Producer does? 🤔 Let me break it down! As a Show Producer, my role is like being the conductor of an orchestra. I’m responsible for making sure all the different elements of a show come together to create something truly engaging and impactful. Here’s a glimpse into what that entails: 🎥 Content Development: From the initial idea to the final product, I’m involved in every step of the creative process. This includes brainstorming concepts, writing scripts, and planning the overall narrative. 🎬 Production Management: I coordinate all the logistics—scheduling shoots, managing budgets, and ensuring everything runs smoothly on set. This often means juggling multiple tasks and keeping everyone on track. 💡 Team Collaboration: A show is never a one-person job. I work closely with directors, writers, editors, and crew members to bring the vision to life. Communication and teamwork are key! 👥 Audience Engagement: Understanding the audience is crucial. I make decisions on content and presentation to ensure that the show resonates with viewers and keeps them coming back for more. In short, being a Show Producer is about blending creativity with practical execution to deliver a show that entertains. It’s challenging but incredibly rewarding to see all the pieces fit together! Here’s a behind-the-scenes look at me in action—caught unaware while making the magic happen on set. #ProducerLife #BehindTheScenes #ContentCreation #DigitalContentCreation

"𝐈𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐳𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐢𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐝𝐨 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐨 𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐭." - 𝐇𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐲 𝐒. 𝐓𝐫𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐧 Truer words have never been spoken, especially for those of us in the high-stakes world of live entertainment as stage managers. Let's be real - the stage manager's role is not a glitzy one. We don't get to bask in the spotlight or take endless curtain calls. Our job is to quietly (and masterfully) pull the strings behind the scenes, empowering our teams to deliver an unforgettable performance. The true reward for a stage manager comes not from individual accolades, but from the collective success of the entire production. When we let go of ego and focus solely on supporting our directors, designers, technicians, and actors, the results can be nothing short of magical. I've seen it time and again - the show that overcomes every obstacle, seamlessly transitioning from scene to scene, thanks to a stage management team that operates with seamless efficiency and complete dedication to the end goal. No one caring who gets the credit, just pouring their heart and soul into bringing the vision to life. That's the kind of leadership that transforms good productions into great ones. The kind that earns the respect and loyalty of an entire creative team. The kind that keeps audiences coming back, show after show. So the next time you're tempted to seek the spotlight or make sure your contribution doesn't go unnoticed, remember Truman's wisdom. The true victory lies in what we can accomplish together, not what any one of us can claim for ourselves. #StageManagement #TheaterLeadership #CreativeCollaboration #EgolessTeamwork #UnseenHeroes #TheaterLife #LeadershipLessons #SelflessSucess

I often get asked, "how do you feel about shifting tracks completely from the business world to acting?" First of all, that's not entirely true because I haven't shifted tracks "fully" but that's a matter of discussion for another post. Secondly, while the world of acting has a lot to do with being creative, a great part of it also has to do with the business of acting. In fact, it has made me embrace and apply more business strategies than ever. For instance, let's talk about the question I get the most - how do you get these auditions? As a freelance actor, I've found that treating audition opportunities as leads and applying business development strategies has been crucial in my journey. So here's how I approach it. In my head, I've created a deck which I call "Business Development Strategies for Actors: Maximizing Audition Opportunities" and its essence is in the following "three-pronged approach": 1) Passive Lead Generation - "Wait & Watch": Similar to inbound leads in business, I maintain an active online presence on Instagram (which is the LinkedIn for the field) + keep my profile in circulation with the casting directors (CDs). By showcasing my work and credentials, I create opportunities for directors to reach out to me directly with role requirements that align with my profile. 2) Active Lead Generation - "Go for the Hunt": In addition to passive strategies, I proactively search for audition opportunities on Instagram or WhatsApp status updates of CDs. By leveraging hashtags, following relevant accounts, and staying tuned to industry updates, I identify casting calls that match my skills and interests. This active approach allows me to seize opportunities that might otherwise pass me by. 3) Community Collaboration - "Networking for Leads": Collaboration within the acting community plays a vital role in my audition strategy. Every morning, I start my work day by engaging in information exchange with fellow actors, sharing insights about ongoing casting work and industry trends. Through this network, I not only gain valuable leads but also contribute to the success of my peers by sharing relevant opportunities and contacts. By combining passive and active lead generation tactics with community collaboration, I cast a wider net and increase my chances of landing exciting roles in the competitive world of acting. I end up getting about 2-3 auditions a day which is not a bad average at all by any means. Conversions are a different story altogether. #Acting #Auditions #LeadGeneration #BusinessDevelopment #Networking #Community #Collaboration (P.S.: I significantly leveraged ChatGPT to write this - mostly the business speak :))
