Navigating New Challenges in Hospitals This July: Expert Tips from PAoSWFL July brings not only the heat but also unique challenges in hospital settings, often referred to as the 'July Effect.' As new medical residents begin their rotations, the dynamics within hospitals can shift, potentially impacting patient care. Here are three expert tips from Patient Advocates of Southwest FL, LLC on how to manage your healthcare effectively during this critical period: 1. Be Proactive with Your Healthcare Team: Engage Actively: Make sure to introduce yourself to the new medical staff and understand who is responsible for your care. Being proactive in establishing communication can help mitigate any potential oversight caused by the staff transitions. Clarify and Confirm: Always double-check the information provided by new doctors or nurses. If something doesn’t seem right, don’t hesitate to ask for clarification or a second review by a more experienced staff member. 2. Document Everything: Keep Detailed Records: Maintain a detailed record of all interactions, medications, and treatments. This log will be invaluable, especially if there are discrepancies in your treatment or if you need to recount your medical history to new caregivers. Use Technology: Use apps or digital tools to track your medical history and share information quickly and accurately with different providers. 3. Have a Backup Plan: Identify a Healthcare Advocate: Whether it’s a family member, a friend, or a professional like those at PAoSWFL, ensure you have someone who can advocate on your behalf if you can’t. Emergency Contact and Medical Info: Ensure your emergency contact and essential medical information are easily accessible, not just in your wallet but also saved in your phone or a medical alert bracelet. Stay safe and stay informed! Empowering yourself with the right strategies can make a significant difference in navigating the July Effect. #HealthcareTips #JulyEffect #PatientAdvocacy"

As Men's Health Week comes to a close, it's crucial to acknowledge the significant impact Nurse Practitioners (NPs) and Physician Associates (PAs) have on men's health. 🔵 Improved Access to Care: NPs and PAs play a vital role in making healthcare more accessible. By offering services in both primary and specialized settings, they ensure that men—often hesitant to seek regular medical care—receive the attention they need. 🔵 Patient-Centered Approach: These healthcare professionals excel in building strong patient relationships, providing a personalized and understanding approach that caters to individual needs. This fosters a more engaging and supportive care experience. 🔵 Enhanced Health Outcomes: Through dedicated management, continuous education, and comprehensive support, NPs and PAs significantly improve health outcomes and the quality of life for men facing various health challenges. At POCN, we proudly support and empower NPs and PAs in their mission to enhance men's health. Our expertise also extends to helping Pharma companies identify, reach, and engage these critical healthcare providers. We believe in the power of NPs and PAs to transform healthcare and are committed to advancing their roles in the industry. Together, we can bridge gaps in care and ensure that men receive the best possible health outcomes. #MensHealthWeek #NursePractitioners #PhysicianAssociates #POCN #Healthcare #PharmaEngagement #MensHealthMatters

33% lower healthcare costs and 19% lower odds of dying prematurely. An article from Forbes outlines the proven benefits of regular PCP visits as it relates to a traditional primary care model. At Connected Health, the value of concierge primary care is even higher... ➡ Appointments start on time so you can minimize lost work hours. ➡ Your care team knows you, greets you by name, and remembers your medical history. ➡ More face-to-face time with your doctor means your questions, concerns, and input are all addressed without being rushed or ignored while the doctor is multitasking. ➡ 24/7 access to communication with the medical team that knows you, not a third party answering service. ➡ A clean and comfortable environment that promotes health and general wellbeing. "Every $1 increase in primary care spending produces $13 in savings." -Forbes, Feb 23, 2024. https://lnkd.in/en9wdDZj
