Its scary to think we're already half way through 2024! The festival season has only just begun, but we're already taking bookings for bonfire & fireworks season. Firework and bonfire events are inherently higher risk than your average summer community festival. Its usually darker, wetter, colder and with the addition of fire, flying explosives and a beverage or two to keep us warm, accidents are more likely to happen. Councils & safety advisory groups (SAG) are tightening their grip on events over 500 people and are enforcing guidance more strictly. Winter pressures and the general increase in demand for NHS services over bonfire weekend are likely to increase waiting times for 999 calls to be resourced. Don't get caught out this year and get in early. Last minute is inherently more expensive with less choice! Give us a call on 03300 100 280 or pop an email to sales@event-medical.co.uk and we can get your plan together for your 2024 event!

I'm a member of PAMPA - a community and network of producers, agents and managers (based across Europe) who work in the performing arts. There's 15 of us, all volunteering, coming together and dedicating our time to specific working groups and the wider PAMPA cause. Over the coming months we're hosting/holding some public spaces and sharing knowledge and resources to connect with others as we know the role of the independent producer can sometimes be lonely. 1) Come and join us in Brussels on 16th May at KFDA where we'll discuss, exchange knowledge and hear from KFDA Co-Artistic Director Daniel Blanga Gubbay. 2) We'll be sharing some findings of our Europe wide survey (analysed and supported by On The Move) which gathered 380 responses from people in 25 countries and creates a greater understanding of our realities and care responsibilities. 3) One of the areas I've been working on is a pool of resources - we’re attempting to gather and share links to existing online resources around our roles and working practices. There's over 100 so far split across case studies, fair practices, sustainability, finances, education and mobility. If you know of some resources that aren't on the list, there's a Google Form to tell us about it and I'll update it. 4) Next month (6th June, 13:00-14:30 CET) we're hosting our first Open Online Session for those who want connect, share thoughts and exchange on specific topics that are relevant to our work. To register for meeting in Brussels, sign up to the newsletter or contribute a new resource, head to our website. https://lnkd.in/gbFzn_n4 #network #performingarts #europe #producers

WA Tree Festival is back again for another year and here are our Top 3 reasons to get involved... 1 🍃 More trees = cooler suburbs After the sweltering summer we just had, this ones a no-brainer. Let's all learn a bit, plant a bit, and protect our local trees to give us some much needed shade into the future. Get a free tree 🌳 bit.ly/GimmeaFreebie 2 🍃 More of the right trees = better urban forest We are not going to do this one justice in a social post, but basically, more of the right trees in the right spots in the right amounts = good biodiversity (or something to that effect - definitely read this 🌳 bit.ly/UrbanForest101) 3 🍃 More trees improve your health and wellbeing This research study shows that "adults in leafy neighbourhoods have lower risk of developing psychological distress" 🌳 bit.ly/MoreTreeLessStress Best of all, connect with your local community during WA Tree Festival - we really are better together 💚

☀️🎉 Septic Myth Monday: "Summer Parties and Your Septic System" 🏡💧 Hey Myth Busters! 🌟 With summer parties and gatherings in full swing, let's talk about how to keep your septic system running smoothly during these fun events. 🍔🎈 The Myth: Hosting summer parties won't affect my septic system. The Truth: While enjoying Nebraska's beautiful weather and hosting summer gatherings, keep in mind that more people mean more waste going into your septic system. Too much waste can cause clogs or other septic problems. To avoid issues, it’s wise to have your septic tank pumped before entertaining large groups. 🚽🚫 The Better Alternative: Pump Before Parties: Schedule a septic tank pump before hosting large gatherings to ensure your system can handle the increased load. 🛠️✅ Inform Guests: Let guests know the general guidelines for homes with septic systems. Post a note listing items that should not be flushed, so guests unfamiliar with septic systems don’t inadvertently cause issues. 📋🚽 📞 Need Help or Advice? Call us at: 308-210-4410 Visit our website: https://lnkd.in/gZTabAPq Enjoy your summer parties without the worry of septic issues. Stay prepared and party on! 🎉🏡 #SepticMythMonday #SummerParties #SepticSystemCare

Join me at the Event "Where is the Meal? Community Building with Meals" "Where is the Meal?" is a series of events responding to the question of how meals relate to place, and its cultural, political, technological and legal conditions. This event explores temporal and situative community building: How do meals come to be in places that are neither private nor commercial? What are the tensions that emerge when running a community kitchen, allotment or garden in a cultural or educational institution? For more details: https://lnkd.in/eDTdTySa
