Today, May 12 is the World Gum Health Day.   As a reminder: 📍 NO oral prevention policy in France (according to WHO) 📍 2006: In France, ONE IN 2 ADULTS PRESENTS PERIODONTITIS according to the latest epidemiological study on the prevalence of periodontal diseases. NO studies for 18 years. 📍 2020: In France, 63% of adults have BLEEDING gums and, for 83% of them, IT IS BENIN 📍 2023: a study bringing together epidemiological data from 24 countries including several European countries, excluding France, shows an INCREASE IN THE PREVALENCE OF PERIODONTITIS. 📍 FOR 40 YEARS, thousands of studies have shown the direct or indirect relationships between periodontal disease and general health. IT IS HIGH TIME TO TAKE CARE OF PERIODONTAL DISEASE.

According to WHO, 'Disease X' is a placeholder name to signify the unknown upcoming potential agent adopted in February 2018 and shortlisted in blueprint priority diseases. Health experts have sounded an alarm about the global threat of the X-agent after the WHO coined this term. It is simply an unnamed agent or microbial threat that could cause a future epidemic even a pandemic and would cause 20 times more fatalities than Covid-19.
