Through leadership and collaboration, we are committed to driving the industry forward and bringing meaningful change. I was honoured to be invited to speak on the bunker sellers' panel at this week’s IBIA convention in Athens, alongside Keld Rosenbæk Demant from Bunker Holding A/S, Kenny MacLean from Peninsula, Niels den Nijs from Titan and Sifis I. Vardinoyannis from SEKAVIN SA | Physical Supplier & Worldwide Bunkering and Trading to discuss the challenges and opportunities facing our industry. It was very encouraging to hear that we all share a common vision and ambition: to create a more transparent, digitalised, and regulated industry that not only benefits our customers but also supports a sustainable future for our planet. By prioritising responsible practices and innovation, we can reduce environmental impact and set higher standards across the sector, thanks to Katerina Kontou for actively moderating the session. As the IBIA Chairman Constantinos Capetanakis highlighted in his welcome address, the next step is for us to unite and collaborate in turning this vision into reality, advancing these shared goals for the benefit of our industry, our customers, and the world. I look forward to seeing our industry take bold steps forward and make a meaningful impact, with the IBIA providing the support and guidance needed to bring this vision to life. #MFM #MassFlowMeters #EBDN #Transparency #Compliance #MarineFuelsModernised #Collaboration #Bunkering #IBIA #Digitalisation
“Collaboration” to achieve greater efficiencies, drive innovation, reduce environmental impacts and improve safety of operations was the main theme at this week’s IBIA Annual Convention in Athens. Calls championed by both IBIA Chairman Constantinos Capetanakis and Executive Chairman Alexander Prokopakis. Speaking on the Bunker Sellers panel at the event, our Global Head of Bunkering, Kenneth Dam, also echoed the importance of collaboration and expressed optimism about the positive momentum IBIA’s newly launched European Regional Board will bring to the bunkering industry. “With the establishment of IBIA’s European Regional Board and the exceptional calibre, quality, and diversity of its members, we are confident that the IBIA will continue advancing the agenda for European port authorities to prioritise their focus on transparency, health and safety, digitalisation, and the mandatory adoption of mass flow meters across all ports,” he said. #TFGMarine #MassFlowMeters #MarineFuelsModernised #Bunkering #Transparency #MarineFuelSupply #Digitalisation #Transparency #IBIA #IBIABoard #SustainableShipping #IBIAConvention

We are delighted to join the International Association of Ports and Harbors (IAPH) as an associate member, a global alliance representing ports and key maritime stakeholders that are helping to tackle environmental challenges and drive innovation. Ports are the lifeblood of international trade, serving as essential gateways that connect nations, facilitate the movement of goods and enable economic growth worldwide. As a key player in global shipping, we are committed to driving innovation and sustainability across the industry. This partnership provides an unparalleled opportunity to engage in meaningful discussions, collaborate with experts and explore emerging technologies that will shape the future of logistics and port management. The next decade will witness more transformation in the marine sector than it’s seen in the last century, and global alliances such as that of the IAPH are critical to delivering this change. 📢 Exciting developments are happening at KPMC Ltd., a joint venture between PSA International and Kazakhstan Railways National Company (KTZ), which manages Kazakhstan’s main railway network. 🚉 Established last year, #KPMC focuses on promoting the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (#TITR), a key trade link connecting Southeast Asia and China to Europe through Kazakhstan. We’re proud to explore new opportunities along this corridor, such as transporting hazardous goods ⚠️ and enhancing global trade flows, both westbound (from Asia to Europe) and eastbound (from Europe to China and Central Asia). #PSA is also looking at the growing importance of the Middle Corridor, as an alternative and faster trade route between China and Europe. As shareholder in DGT - Duisburg Gateway Terminal Terminal (DGT), Europe’s largest and greenest inland terminal, the teams engaged in a strategic workshop session to explore the role of #DGT in this evolving route by connecting Duisburg with Türkiye. KPMC and PSA are paving the way for the future of global trade, alongside! 🌍 #AlwaysAlongside #PSAEuroMed #TeamPSA

Last week's Asia Pacific Maritime event has concluded, and I had the opportunity to engage in various panel discussions. A recurring theme throughout these discussions was the idea that while individual effort may lead to quick progress, long-term success requires collective action. This notion strongly resonates with the journey towards #decarbonization, particularly in the maritime sector. Collaboration among stakeholders is essential as the industry grapples with challenges related to both commercial and climate resilience. Embracing a diverse range of fuels, expanding energy sources, and mitigating sulfur emissions stand out as top priorities. Various stakeholders, including academia, NGOs, and industry players, actively shared experimental data and adoption of best practices. Furthermore, regulatory requirements such as the EU's fuel emission targets for 2025, alongside Singapore's participation at the MEPC, illustrate the changing landscape. Alternative options like #Methanol and #Ammonia, is reshaping the dynamics of the industry. As the industry progresses, it becomes increasingly crucial to integrate principles of #risksharing, #knowledge exchange, and sustainability into maritime practices. Whether it's in investment decisions or consumer behavior, resilience and environmental consciousness are paramount for fostering a sustainable future. Looking ahead, the upcoming Singapore Maritime Week in April for further insights and discussions on these critical issues; Actions meet Ambition. #APM2024 #SMW #sustainability
